I started off with a 140 bpm Surgeon tune from 1999 and was able to keep the vibe going till the end of the set. The highlight of the night was a remix I did for VKTR vs Gazza "Funny Biz". The bassline in that track kicked in and the crowd went into overdrive. Stellar party! 26/04/2016 Duración: 01h04min

After a few weeks off, we're back with another podcast from a talented DC local, Tortoise and the Snare founder Wade Hammes: "It's funny to listen to a mix I create now compared to when I started DJing a year ago and seeing how vast my tastes in music have changed in that short timeframe. Looking through my library, I've gone from a crazy love for 80s synthwave to Dirtybird-esque tracks to heavy tech house/techno to the underground deep house and disco (I Records, Sonic Soul Records, UM Records, etc.). It's been a roller coaster of sounds. Recently, I've started to find my groove with the latter and really think it suits me well. A lot of the influence developing my tastes I have to credit to https://soundcloud.com/crunt, https://soundcloud.com/iamphilco and https://soundcloud.com/ypset. They have been crucial in helping me find my sound the past year, along with being great mentors to my DJing. This mix encapsulates my current tastes to a T. Spacey, loungey deep house that is groovy and not overpowering; s

I know you haven't had a mix like this featured in the DC House Grooves Meet the Locals Podcast before. It's extremely diverse. It pulls from all different genres such as techno, house, dancehall, UK Funky, Grime, Garage, bass, I mean you name it. That is the special thing about bass music, it continues to pull from all genres, from all categories. I know people have a miss conception of bass music.
