Programming note! This week, Alicia and Stacie talk with one of our favorite people, the talented and wonderful Emily from the band The Skipperdees. She is in a few other bands, and teaches all the music to pre-k through 5th grade too! We take a romp through the land of Tennessee hometowns with three-eyed fish, learning to play instruments, teaching brutally honest tinies, musical collaboration with a twin, and oh-so-much Dolly Parton. Alicia and Stacie debate their auspicious lack of holiday decorations over vodka concoctions. We talk family traditions (lies!), dinosaur nativity scenes, and other super fun family holiday happenings while we decide if we are just lazy, grinchy, or simply cat owners. (It's a mix – spoilers.)

JoJo stuck around with us and we kept on chatting - this time about summer's most horrible catchy tune, Rupert Holmes' 'Escape (The Pina Colada Song).' Think of it as a warm-weather version of 'Baby, It's Cold Outside,' and sing along with us as we absolutely murder it. Don't worry - as you'll hear, singing chops are not required. 

Okay, so we don't actually go to Morocco (except in our minds), but in this week's episode we talk to our friend JoJo, a seasoned traveler with a ton of great stories and solid tips on how to become a world traveler within your budget. JoJo shares secrets for finding cheap airfare and doing your thing abroad without breaking the bank. She also tells us about her favorite country – Morocco – and that time she thought she might end up in jail there. She's got really wonderful advice and thoughts about traveling alone as a woman. If you've got a dream that involves an airline ticket, this is the episode for you.

This week, Alicia and Stacie drink Russell's Reserve 10 Year Old bourbon with our favorite barrister, political operative, and UGA fan, Billy Joyner. We talk today's politics – including a bit about the tight spot Paul Manafort has wedged himself into – and travel to the magical land of The West Wing. Alicia makes up a few games on the spot and they go really, really well, then Billy plays Three Bands, Dead or Alive. We close out with a little football chatter ahead of the big Georgia-Alabama game on Saturday (you knew we had to talk football). Oh, and for listeners in Georgia – our runoff election is next Tuesday, December 4, and early voting is happening now. VOTE!

This week, Alicia and Stacie introduce you to Scott Bowling of the YouTube channel Good Company. Scott just happens to be Alicia's cousin, and he tells us all about his show Good Company, where he interviews musicians about their catalogs of work. We also talk cousins, a few bits of family lore from Alicia and Scott, and a highly questionable experience of teenage drinking from our misspent youths. There's a lot of nostalgic music chatter, from INXS's album Kick, to our first concerts, to the wild festival co-billing that was common in the 1990s. Finally, Alicia and Scott play her favorite game: Three Bands, Dead or Alive.

Well, we're all living through a pretty dark time line, so this week we're talking self-care strategies. Specifically, Alicia introduces the concept of "päntsdrunk," the Finnish art of unwinding alone with a drink in your underwear while doing something you enjoy (that's not Facebook or Twitter). Stacie talks about the fabulous escapism N.K. Jemisin's Broken Earth Trilogy and the sci-fi deliciousness of author Becky Chambers.
