Episode 22 - Where Should Loyalty Lie?
10/11/2017 Duración: 56minIt's episode 22 of the E2 Podcast! We're celebrating one of the greatest pitchers of his generation in Clayton Kershaw. Despite his funky delivery, he's one of the most dominant pitchers in baseball. In this episode we discuss the newest crop of managers in baseball. We discussed how there seems to be a movement towards hiring managers with an analytical mindset. We are very excited about this trend. Our next topic delves in to where loyalty should fall on the list of priorities for a analytical front office. There are many different factors to consider and we had a very good back and forth discusison. Finally, we briefly speculated about where Giancarlo Stanton might end up if the Marlins choose to trade him this off season. Follow along on Twitter with Eric (@EProsise) and Eli (eli_marger) during the hot stove season!

Episode 21 - Big Juicy Balls
31/10/2017 Duración: 01h03minIt's episode 21 of the E2 Podcast! We break down the first 5 games of what has been an absurd World Series. If Game 5 was any indication, the excitement of this series has started to permeate the general consciousness. People just love the long ball. This series has been a total slug fest. Eli and Eric discuss a couple of factors that have lead to this, including "juiced" baseballs and exhausted bullpens pushed past their breaking point. Follow along for your World Series analysis/Florida football coaching news. Eric (@EProsise) and Eli (eli_marger)

Episode 20 - October Baseball Is A Magical Mess
20/10/2017 Duración: 46minIt's the Frank Robinson episode of the E2 Podcast. We honor the only person to win an MVP award in both leagues right before the two leagues square off for a world championship. Eric and Eli spent some time trying to figure out just how the Yankees are one game away from a World Series. Eric still thinks the Astros have a chance to come back and win the series, but no matter what happens it's been an impressive run by the Yanks. The guys also previewed both potential World Series match-ups. Finally, they discussed the very underwhelming hire of Rod Gardenhire by the Detroit Tigers. Follow Eric (@EProsise) and Eli (@eli_marger) for all World Series thoughts going forward.

Episode 19 - It's Playoff Time!
03/10/2017 Duración: 58minIt's Episode 19 of the E2 Podcast! This is the Bob Feller edition of the podcast and like the Heater from Van Meter, Eric and Eli are bringing the heat. The regular season has come to a close which means it's time for the zany, wacky baseball playoffs. We have some great match-ups in the early rounds. The upstart Minnesota Twins try to take down the Bronx Bombers. No word on whether or not they'll be starting Webman. On the other side of the American League bracket is a Red Sox/Astros match-up that is worthy of an ALCS. There will be offense galore in that series. On the National League side, the Rockies will have to try to take down Zack Greinke and a balanced Diamondbacks lineup to to earn the right take on the Dodgers. The other NL match-up should be a doozy. The defending champions take on the team that's always the bridesmaid but has never been the bride. Is this the Nationals year or will the Cubs make another deep postseason run? We can't wait to find out. Follow along the entire postseason with

Episode 18 - Awards Time
26/09/2017 Duración: 52minIt's the Johnny Damon (man what a butt) episode of the E2 Podcast. We're a week away from the playoffs so we wanted to give out some awards. We discuss the MVP, Cy Young, Manager and Rookie of the Year awards for the American and National Leagues. Eric is hoping that his Indians bias wasn't too prevalent. Finally, sparked by a Joe Posnanski article (https://medium.com/joeblogs/2000-vs-2017-ea4c9141b966) Eric and Eli discuss the record setting amount of home runs that have been hit this season and how a sabermetric-led increase in shifts might have been the cause. We also discussed the impact that Statcast and their launch angle statistic might have had. The long ball is sexy, and so was this discussion. As always, follow along for all your baseball and Florida football hot takes at @EProsise or @eli_marger

Episode 17 - We're Going Streaking!
14/09/2017 Duración: 01h07minAfter a brief break forced upon us by Irma, the E2 Podcast is back! Incredibly, while we were on hiatus the Indians did no lose a single game. Not a one. As the resident Indians fan, Eric took this opportunity to wax poetic about one of the most incredible runs that any baseball team has ever played. Once Eric finally shut up about the Indians, and given the Dodgers and Astros recent struggles, we had a brief discussion about how big of an impact that finishing a season going in to October strong can have on playoffs performance. Finally, we discussed a few of our favorite streaks from baseball's glorious history. As always, follow Eric (@EProsise) and Eli (eli_marger) to keep the baseball (and college football) talk going 24/7.

Episode 16 - Pure Hitting
31/08/2017 Duración: 01h10minAfter a week off the E2 Podcast is back with the Dwight Gooden honorary episode! We check in again on the American League wild card race where we pour one out for the 2017 Toronto Blue Jays. The tear that Giancarlo (nee Mike) Stanton is on has Eli and I feeling nostalgic of the home run races that captivated us during our youths. There's just something about that magical 60 home run number. We wrapped things up with the discussion that we've been teasing all season, the pure hitter discussion. We set up the parameters of what we consider to be a pure hitter and walk through the current players that fit that criteria. Some of them made sense, and we had a few surprises. Tune in for the whole discussion! As always, follow Eric (@EProsise) or Eli (@eli_marger) to continue the discussion all throughout the week or to suggest a topic.

Episode 15 - American League Gone Wild
17/08/2017 Duración: 01h01minIt's the Jim Edmonds episode of the E2 Podcast! Check out some of the greatest Edmonds highlights https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56f4xH4ZoEM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_e8PrJWJO4 It feels apt to call this time of year in baseball the 3rd day of a golf major because it's moving day. Teams like the Cardinals and Blue Jays, who many expected to contend throughout the entire season, are finally starting to show what everyone saw on paper at the start of the season. Eli and Eric spend some time discussing the Cardinals surge and whether or not the boys from St. Louis are here to stay. Next, since half of the American League is still in contention for a wild card spot Eric and Eli break down each team and give a quick synopsis about whether or not they are legitimate teams. What we found was an awful lot of mediocre. But, someone has to make the second wild card and we make our prediction as to whom. Lastly, we have a rambling discussion about what the high water mark for WAR would b

Episode 14 - State of the Union
11/08/2017 Duración: 01h19sIt's the Ernie Banks episode of the E2 Podcast! As the Indians and Rays are beginning a 4 game series, Eric and Eli take the opportunity to do a sort of state of the union on their two favorite teams. How pleased were they with the moves that their teams made both before and after the trade deadline and how are they feeling about their chances in October? Next the two guys launch in to a discussion about a trend that's becoming more and more common among teams to staff their pitching staffs with strikeout pitchers, which has led to some very inefficient pitching. There's a lot to digest and it may be brought up again later, but it was a good jumping off point As always, feel free to tweet at either Eric (@EProsise) or Eli (@eli_marger) with any comments or questions, or email the show at theE2Podcast@gmail.com

Episode 13 - Trade Deadline Mania
01/08/2017 Duración: 01h10minIt's Hall of Fame time for baseball as five legends were inducted in to Cooperstown on Saturday. Eli and Eric shared some thoughts about watching Pudge and Jeff Bagwell while we were growing up. They also talked about how Tim Raines was one of the first players whose induction can be traced directly to the statistical revolution. They briefly gave a tip of the cap to future Hall of Famer Adrian Beltre for joining the 3000 hit club and discussed who might be the next members of that exclusive fraternity. Finally, the MLB trade deadline has passed and there was a flurry of moves to finish off what had been a relatively tame hot stove season. Some big name pitchers were moved at the last minute, and quite a few contenders decided to stand mostly pat. Which moves did Eric and Eli like, and which left them feeling a bit cold? Tune in to find out! Feel free to tweet at and follow Eric (@EProsise) and Eli (@eli_marger) or to email the show at theE2Podcast@gmail.com!

Episode 12 - The Relief Bubble
20/07/2017 Duración: 01h04minIt's the Robbie Alomar episode of the E2 Podcast. We kick things off by dissecting the three major trades that were completed over the past week, from the not at all shocking trade of relievers to the Nationals, to the surprising move that the D-Backs made for J.D. Martinez. We also had a discussion about whether or not the White Sox got enough return for Todd Frazier, David Robertson and Tommy Kahnle. That led us to our big topic for the episode, have teams started to place too much value on relief pitching? There has been a noticeable shift in the past few seasons in the way that teams approach building their bullpens. Contenders are no longer satisfied with one ace reliever, they are looking for two or three. This has caused the price for that caliber of reliever to go up in trades. We look at if this trend can continue or if we are moving towards a bubble burst. We wrapped things up with a quick talk about games that we wished had ended with a different outcome, and the greatest players we've ever s

Episode 11 - Don't Burn Your Hand On The Hot Stove
14/07/2017 Duración: 01h10minWell we were going to try to do a hot stove preview tonight, but those Chicagoans beat us to the punch. Nevertheless, Eric and Eli enjoyed a long discussion about which teams could be buyers or sellers and players that could potentially be moved. Follow Eric (@EProsise) and Eli (@eli_marger) for instant reactions leading up to the trade deadline. We also touched briefly about Aaron Judge's impressive home run derby performance and made some second half predictions.

Episode 10 - All-Star Memories
06/07/2017 Duración: 01h32sWe've reached the 10th episode on the crazy ride that has been the E2 Podcast. We decided to celebrate by talking about baseballs in-season celebration, the All-Star game. Eric and Eli have a nice long discussion about the All-Star rosters and the Home Run Derby. We also took a long, long stroll down memory lane about different Derby and Game moments that stand out to us all these years later. Whether it was Josh Hamilton lighting up the Bronx or the innate coolness that exuded from Ken Griffey Jr., there was plenty to reminisce about. The episode was wrapped with a discussion prompted by a Buster Olney arctle about who we would want toeing the hill in a do-or-die game. While Clayton Kershaw would seem to be the obvious answer, we discussed some others that would definitely warrant a hard look. As always, you can tweet at Eric (@EProsise) or Eli (@eli_marger) if you want to suggest a show topic or just talk baseball. You can also email the show at theE2Podcast@gmail.com Enjoy!

Baseball Brawl of Fame
15/06/2017 Duración: 54minWe're back! After a 3 week hiatus the E2 podcast makes its triumphant return. We had a lot to go over, so we started with the Astros strong start and Scooter Gennett's amazing night. We got our first listener email (and you can be the second if you email the show at theE2Podcast@gmail.com) which led to a discussion of the ahead of schedule Yankees and Aaron Judge in particular. We wrapped things up with a discussion of the stupid Bryce Harper/Hunter Strickland brawl and our favorite brawls from our youth. Episode 7 - Regression is Mean
19/05/2017 Duración: 57minEpisode 7 starts off with a quick recap of the E2 Podcast series between the Indians and the Rays. We are now 40 games in to the season so Eric and Eli took the opportunity to look at some candidates to regress to the mean after their hot starts. That includes a look at their favorite stats to consider when looking for regression candidates. Finally, they revisit the segment about the Mets from a few episodes ago after the Jerry Crasnick article examining the Mets and their medical personal. They're not medical experts but they gave it a shot. Please feel free to email the show at theE2Podast@gmail.com or tweet at either host. Eric: @EProsise Eli: @eli_marger

Episode 6 - The Ghost of Wally Pipp
11/05/2017 Duración: 51minWe are ~20% of the way through the baseball season, so the E2 podcast dives in to some story lines that have emerged so far. First, Ryan Zimmerman has re-emerged and is playing at an All-Star level again. Can he keep it up? Next, with Cody Bellinger tearing the cover off the ball, are the Dodgers looking at a Wally Pipp situation with Adrian Gonzalez? The guys also talk about the larger issue that faces small market teams with regard to service time. Finally, Blake Snell struggling has Eli wondering if he should spend some time in the minors to work some things out. A lively discussion follows about what to do with a stud pitching prospect that just can't throw strikes. Do you move him to the bullpen, send him to the minors or let him work things out in the majors? Listen to find out! If you have any questions or topic ideas, feel free to email the show at theE2Podcast@gmail.com. You can email the hosts at @EProsise and @eli_marger

Episode 5 - Baseball Should Be Fun!
04/05/2017 Duración: 52minWelcome to the 5th episode of the E2 Podcast! In this episode, Eric and Eli discuss the injury misfortune that has once again struck the New York Mets. Following that is a fun talk about their current and former baseball man-crushes. Finally, they wrap things up by trying to wrap their heads around the "unwritten" rules of baseball. Why are they enforced so inconsistently and is it good for the game to be stifling the joy of players. There were many facets to this topic and led to some really solid discussion. As always, if you have an idea for a segment or just any questions please email the pod at theE2Podcast@gmail.com You can also tweet at the hosts: Eric: @EProsise Eli: @Eli_Marger

Episode 4 - The Future of Baseball Has An Excellent Exit Velocity
25/04/2017 Duración: 50minIt's episode 4 of the E2 podcast! The baseball season is just far enough along in the season that Eric and Eli can start to take a peek at some hot starts and decide if they're contenders or pretenders. There is a brief interlude of name that random early 2000s player before they get in to the main topic of the episode, Statcast. This amazing technology is changing the way teams evaluate players and how fans watch the game. Eric and Eli give a 10,000 foot overview of Statcast and it's possible ramifications. If you have any questions or ideas for topics email the show at theE2Podcast@gmail.com or tweet Eric @EProsise or Eli @eli_marger

Then, in the wake of the stunning news of Starling Marte's suspension for PED use, Eric and Eli dive in to the one topic that every baseball fan hates, but nonetheless has strong opinions about...steroids. Finally they wrap up with quick draft of which baseball movies they'd want to keep them company on a desert island. Your favorite will be picked way to low.
