However, Jesus was and is with us, living with us, and even suffering with us. In fact, in the end, Jesus endured every possible form of suffering imaginable. Monarchs throughout history, and monarchs today are better known for cruelty than they are for mercy. God Himself has historically been portrayed as being cruel, broodingly overseeing obedience or disobedience, delivering reward and punishments.
