In a message for our virtual Reunions meeting on Zoom, Bill Boyce shared a reflection on Matthew 11:28-30, where Jesus says, "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

In the second part of our FNF message Chris Sallade and Anna Megill shared a tribute for Bill and Debbie Boyce, as the Boyces transition away from on-campus ministry with current undergrads to a new staff role ministering to the PCF alumni community. 

Chris Sallade gives the last regular message of the school year exhorting the students to pay attention to the voices that they listen to this summer. Chris spoke from selected verses in John 10:"The one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.”“I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me...""My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.”

David Keddie closes out our series on Philippians by teaching on contentment, particularly focusing on chapter 4 verses 10-13:"I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at length you have revived your concern for me. You were indeed concerned for me, but you had no opportunity. Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me."

Chris Sallade delivers the FNF message from Philippians 4:1-7 on peace."Therefore, my brothers and sisters, you whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, stand firm in the Lord in this way, dear friends!2 I plead with Euodia and I plead with Syntyche to be of the same mind in the Lord. 3 Yes, and I ask you, my true companion, help these women since they have contended at my side in the cause of the gospel, along with Clement and the rest of my co-workers, whose names are in the book of life.4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." 

Bill Boyce continues our series on Philippians by asking the question: what are you waiting for? What are you longing for? His text is Philippians 3:17-21:Brothers, join in imitating me, and keep your eyes on those who walk according to the example you have in us. For many, of whom I have often told you and now tell you even with tears, walk as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their end is destruction, their god is their belly, and they glory in their shame, with minds set on earthly things. But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.

David Keddie continues our series on Philippians by meditating on the one thing that is worth more than anything else in life--the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus the Lord.  Philippians 3:1-14Finally, my brothers, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you is no trouble to me and is safe for you.Look out for the dogs, look out for the evildoers, look out for those who mutilate the flesh. For we are the circumcision, who worship by the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh— though I myself have reason for confidence in the flesh also. This FNF we took a break from our series on Philippians to hear from a guest speaker, Mike Emlet, on a Christian approach to mental health. Mike Emlet is a faculty member and counselor at Christian Counseling and Education Foundation (CCEF), where he has served since 2001. He holds a doctor of medicine from the University of Pennsylvania and a master of divinity from Westminster Theological Seminary. Prior to joining CCEF, Mike worked as a family physician for eleven years. He has particular interests in working with ministry leaders and with those who struggle with anxiety, depression, and OCD. He has published numerous books, including CrossTalk (New Growth Press, 2009), Descriptions and Prescriptions (New Growth Press, 2017), and Saints, Sufferers, and Sinners (New Growth Press, 2021).

Chris Sallade begins our new series on Ecclesiastes by teaching from Ecclesiastes 1:1-11. Chris suggests that the Preacher (Qoheleth) of Ecclesiastes can also be understood as a "Dismantler"--someone who asks the hard questions about life, and dismantles assumptions about what gives meaning to life.

David Keddie wraps up our series on "Jesus Discovered" by discussing Jesus as King. His text was Luke 2:10-14"And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. 12 And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.” 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, 'Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!'"

Bill Boyce talks about how Jesus presents himself as a Servant, teaching from John 13:1-17: "Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that his hour had come to depart out of this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.
