In 1863, with the rise in murders and robberies in the gold fields of Montana, came a rise in Montana Vigilante justice, of which Henry Plummer and his supposed band of outlaws, aptly named "The Innocents", would experience first-hand on the very gallows that Plummer himself had built as Sheriff of Bannack Montana.
