Kevin had his opening night of the pantomime but the first show didn't go as smoothly as he would have liked and he was a small bit traumatised. PJ is also a small bit traumatised this week as he has developed a lisp since he started wearing his new retainer. Then because they had a load of submissions that they never got to last time they read out some more mortifying moments. PJ has once again gotten the train down to Cork to see Kevin as the lads agree that the vibes are always immaculate when they’re recording in person together but one thing they’re not happy about is the fact that the sweet trolley hasn’t yet made a return to Iarnród Éireann. PJ was Christmas decoration shopping at the weekend and is feeling all kinds of festive and the lads discuss chaotic gifts they asked Santa for in the past.They then turn their attention to embarrassing moments prompted by a mortifying encounter Kevin had in London with a tote-bearing girl he presumed to be a fan of the pod. They talk about the fact that they don’t really get too embarrassed themselves and that it’s more-so the little things that send them spiralling. But one thing they both agree on is the fact that David Beckham should definitely be mortified for himself. The episode begins with an unprovoked attack against the layout of PJ's kitchen, though really the only person at fault is the sadistic cowboy builder who left the Kirby household with three fake drawers and a shortage of sockets. The boys also share their disdain of personalised mugs with photos and cursive fonts and Kevin reckons PJ's sister Lindsey should know better. Then, prompted by the similarity between PJ and the picture of Bono on the front of his new book the boys put their U2 discography knowledge to the test. The episode starts with the lads announcing that Kevin is appearing in the Cork Opera House pantomime this year (oh yes he is etc etc) and how he already has a romanticised vision of his Christmas in Cork. The lads recently went on a trip to the Royal Albert Hall to see Sam Smith with Universal Music Ireland and came to the realisation that they do in fact like concerts as long as it’s seated and the setting is glamour. They then turn their attention towards the theme this week ‘dreams’ and because they’re pretty clueless on the topic, even when it comes to their own chaotic dreams, they call on the help of expert and author Delphi Ellis to help explore the subject further. After a few weeks off following the passing of Kevin’s Dad Jerry, the boys are back and are picking up where they left off. They talk about Jerry and how he was one of the podcast’s biggest supporters and how much of a legend he was in general. The lads know he’s going to be watching over them and keeping a close eye on their future projects.Kevin shares that because it’s been a whirlwind of a year he has recently started therapy and though he’s loving it he’s worried he’s too hung up on having his therapist like him. It’s been a hectic few days for the boys as PJ tells us of his ordeal sorting out flights to Oz for his mam and Kevin shares the details of a new foxy friend who has decided to pay him a visit at his house in London. Then prompted by the talk of someone bringing their dog on a first date they discuss icks; things that are instant turn-offs, making your skin crawl and killing your boner. The lads are are still recovering after Dublin Pride having hosted the main stage at Mother but still have the energy to divulge the details of the weekends’ antics. Kevin also finds the energy to have a go at the PR companies for being cheapskates and only sending bits to PJ because he lives in Dublin.They then go from reality to the world of fiction and discuss everything to do with telling lies. Growing up gay they had to lie about who they were in order to protect themselves which makes them question if it is okay to lie sometimes. They also dress Kevin’s lying compulsion and he comes clean about his condition and read out chaotic lies submitted by listeners which makes them feel better about their lie-telling tendencies.
