The lads’ mams have both been away on holidays which leads to a discussion about doing a deep clean of the house before a trip abroad. It just gives you a greater sense of peace when you’re doing your rest and relaxation bits by the pool doesn’t it? They then turn their attention to the theme of the week which is stealing and the lads share whether they were fond of a five finger discount when they were younger. The lads are recording from the Apple studio again in London and PJ’s questioning whether he’ll be able to get a pistachio latte from Blank street coffee before he flies back to Dublin as he believes the drink is derived from the tit of Aphrodite. They also question how much butter is in a croissant which leads Kevin on to a story of a new bakery he visited at the weekend (and did he mention it was raining at the time?). The theme for the week is the future and they discuss whether AI is a good or bad thing and whether it will make their jobs as podcast hosts obsolete or not. To out AI to the test they use Chat GPT to generate a podcast intro for them and it doesn’t disappoint. Both of the lads have been to see the Barbie movie and Kevin insists he wanted to see it by himself though PJ thinks it’s because he has no friends. The podcast opens with a heart-warming tale from Kevin that involves an Uber driver and a drag queen on the weekend of Pride in London. The boys had their first author event this week and the imposter syndrome was going ninety but then they met Anne Doyle and she hugged and kissed them and all was okay in the world again. This week the boys announced that they are releasing their own book, The I'm Grand Mamual and they couldn't be more excited. They are well and truly in their author era and so it will come as no surprise to learn that they choose reading as the theme for the week. They talk about giving big main character energy when they were writing chapters of the book on their laptops in random cafés and reveal that when they came up with the iconic title for the book they put their pens down and took the rest of the day off to congratulate themselves on a job well done. The boys are recording together in Dublin as Kevin was over for an event that they were both asked to DJ at. As part of the set they did Rock The Boat and the lads reckon it was one of the hardest ab workouts they've done in ages. Also in the catchup, Kevin recounts a suspected crime he witnessed on the tube. The theme for the week is comfort food and they start off by ripping the food pyramid to shreds and deduce that it's not nutritionally sound and that it was all an inside job to get us to consume more dairy. PJ tells us how he was seduced by Jose's skills in the kitchen and Kevin shares that he's lucky to be alive having eaten the radioactive cupcakes from his sister's Easy-Bake Oven growing up. The episode starts off with a mystery to solve. Kevin was accosted in the streets en route to the record and they need try and find out who the men in question were. PJ has given Kevin the ick because he keeps referring to the work they do together as 'content' and it makes Kevin feel like they live in a Tik Tok hype house. They then spend the rest of the catch-up fawning over a professional dancer they both had a crush on back in the day. The focus is then shifted towards the topic of nerves. PJ has noticed a few changes in Kevin from having spent the last few days with him in London. A change that Kevin has not welcomed is the fact that he is now in his klutz era; he took a hopper in his most recent Crossfit class and was mortified. Well, Kevin has finally finished with Sleeping Beauty and is slightly hungover for the record as he was out late for the wrap party. He’s also slightly h word which PJ takes issue with. Though his contract has come to an end he is still carrying the weight of being a 'role model' for the next generation of performers, a title he takes quite seriously and is kind of obsessed with. The boys then dissect Spare, the new memoir from Prince Harry, though they already know an awful lot about the contents of the book by seeing things online and against their own will. They take a look at the most chaotic aspects of the book and question why a man of his age uses words like todger and gan gan. No need for it. It's the first episode of 2023 and Kevin is still using the term chillaxing but we move.
