Blink And You'll Miss It

Informações:

Sinopsis

A Blink-182 (and related ventures) podcast where every episode is over before you know it!

Episodios

  • Episode 29 - Ransom

    09/11/2019

In this episode, Aemyn (@aemyn) and I discuss songs that are meant to be taken (heh) as metaphors and songs that aren't. Also how did this song come to be? It's my favorite song on NINE. How do I feel about the implications of that?

  • Episode 28 - Point of View

    07/11/2019

Hey it's a pre-CC song that actually sounds like a Blink-182 song! And it was written by someone you might not expect! There are some issues with the structure of the song, but overall I really liked it a lot!

  • Episode 27 - Pin the Grenade

    06/11/2019

In this episode Ben (@ben_etc) and I discuss how great this song is, but how unhealthy the message is. But also how relatable!

  • Episode 26 - On Some Emo Shit

    05/11/2019

In this episode, Leon and I discuss the AMAZINGLY titled track "On Some Emo Shit" from the new album NINE. We talk about how great Matt's voice sounds and how cool that one guitar part is and just how well it all works together!

  • Episode 25 - No Heart To Speak Of

    04/11/2019

CW: This episode contains brief allusions to suicide In this episode, my VERY good friend Daniel (@dantendo64) joins me to talk about this song from NINE and all the ways that the lyrics intertwine beautiful with the music. If you are considering suicide, please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255. Another option if you are LGBTQ is the Trevor Project, which can be reached at 866-488-7386 or the trevorproject.org You are not alone.

  • Episode 24 - My Pet Sally

    01/11/2019

It's another episode of Dirty Blink, the podcast within a podcast where my cohost Erin (@unabashedlyerin) and I look at the dirtiest of Blink songs! Today is an interesting one because I wasn't sure if it belonged in this podcast within a podcast or not, but Erin was and she set me down the slippery slope to understanding.

  • Episode 23 - Marlboro Man

    01/11/2019

In this episode, Corbin from Paudeville (@paudeville) and I discuss this song that appeared on both of the demo albums, and appears to be a nihilistic examination of smoking. Corbin is a delight and played in a pop-punk band in his youth!

  • Episode 22 - Lucy

    31/10/2019

In this episode Temma (@LikeEmmaWithaT) joins me to talk about this song that is based on an in-studio running gag. We enjoyed it, even if it took us a bit to understand.

  • Episode 21 - The Longest Line

    29/10/2019

In this episode, it's time to acknowledge several milestones and also discuss this NOFX cover. Plus, I have an idea for something I'd like to see Blink do!

  • Episode 20 - Life's So Boring

    28/10/2019

I am joined by my podboss and very special friend Colin M. Parker to talk about this Instrumental Outtake from Enema. It was a conversation that was so good, I saved a 13 minute version. So, probably look for that at some point as bonus content. Possibly Scavengers Patreon content? Anyways, look for the very subtle nod to the Finish It podcast and enjoy the rest!

  • Episode 19 - I Won't Be Home For Christmas

    25/10/2019

It's Christmas time....again.....in two months. And I have Mike from Back to the Futurama (and other projects coming soooon) on to talk about this song that honestly should have been in Season 1. The clip I have is from the 1997 Radio Promo, but if you look on Spotify you can find the 2001 remastered version. If you're interested in the Radio Promo with Mark adlibs at the beginning, email me and we'll see what we can do!

  • Episode 18 - I Really Wish I Hated You

    24/10/2019

Today I'm joined by Kevin (@theKFM) from the Comics Canon (@thecomicscanon) to talk about NINE track "I Really Wish I Hated You". We talk about how the lyrics are very good but we wish they'd taken a side about the tempo of the song, rather than going for the middle of the road. Also, please forgive the quality of my audio. Kevin recorded the Skype call and I just decided to use that file and not my locally recorded file.

  • Episode 17 - Hungover You

    23/10/2019

Today I'm joined by Katelynn from Unnatural 20's (@unnatural20s) to talk about this song from NINE. We talk about how Matt kills it on this song and the 3-song mix that the band seem to be pushing us towards! I feel a little bad because in editing, I cut this one way down. I need you to know that it's not because Katelynn didn't have a lot to say. It was a great conversation that edited down to either too short or too long. Katelynn is a delight and she'll be back for Season 3

  • Episode 16 - How to Live

    22/10/2019

I am joined once again by Diana (@maudcaster), but this time we're talking about a Simple Creatures song. It's weird to hear this episode now because, at the time, I hadn't listened to more than this song and Adrenaline by the band, but now I believe I've heard it all. So you're going to hear an earlier version of me, who didn't know the other songs!

  • Episode 15 - Hope

    21/10/2019

It's another cover song and this time it's of a song I am very familiar with! It honestly feels like Blink should have recorded more Descendents covers in their times. But, as I say in the episode, there may yet be one that we haven't featured yet. This is a good cover and I'll be listening to it a lot from now on!

  • Episode 14 - Heaven

    19/10/2019

CW: Gun Violence Today, I'm joined by Elizabeth (@thelovliestliz) from Your Fave is Problematic and FMK All Day to talk about this song that is supposed to be about a mass shooting, but doesn't really talk about it or make a statement in any meaningful way. It was a FANTASTIC discussion and I think I did a fairly decent job of getting the best parts. The only part I had to cut that I think might result in an interesting discussion is this question: How could you make this song more clearly about what it's about without being exploitative of the victims?

  • Episode 13 - Happy Days

    17/10/2019

I'm joined by Friend of the Podcast Temma from tcbcrochet.com to discuss this very open and honest song about battling depression. This is a very good episode and I really hope you enjoy it. Also, if you're feeling lost and alone, and you've had thoughts of suicide, call someone. If not a friend or loved one, then the National Suicide Prevention Hotline (1-800-273-8255).

  • Episode 12 - Generational Divide

    16/10/2019

Today I am joined by Scavengers Network President/CEO/Podboss/Best Friend Colin M Parker to discuss this, the fastest, shortest song on NINE. We get INTO it. I had to cut like 7 minutes of content that I may release as Bonus Content at some point because it was a VERY good discussion!

  • Episode 11 - Freak Scene

    15/10/2019

It's time for another cover song! This is one I hadn't heard either version of before! Where are my Dinosaur Jr. fans? Recommend me some albums to get to know them. I know and love "Feel the Pain" and I enjoyed this song quite a bit!

  • Episode 10 - Family Next Door

    14/10/2019

The first episode of Season 2 of Dirty Blink! We're talking about a song called "Family Next Door" and that's probably all you need to know to have a pretty good grasp of the content of the song. We also briefly discuss my dumb misunderstanding of a related Weird Al song. Follow Erin at @UnabashedlyErin!
