House of Rain by Craig Childs tracks the dispersion of the Chaco civilization across the southwest. Ancient Ruins and Rock Art of the Southwest by David Grant Noble provides a guide to archaeological sites. These books inspired and directed my side trips to some very interesting Native American sites in 2023.
