Warren Cycling Podcast

In this special edition episode the Warren Cyclng Podcast interviews Kimberly Coats of Team Africa Rising.  Kimberly talks to the Warren brothers about forming the first all African professional UCI women's cycling team. The team will compete in 2017 and be comprised of Eritrean, Ethiopian, and Rwandan riders and will initially be based in the United States and race the first half of the season in the US.  She explains the hurdles in developing the team such as finding a title sponsor.  Kimberly also shared the recent success of Eritrean rider Yohana Dawit at the Green Mountain Stage Race in Vermont.  Randy and Dean ask about the upcoming World Championships and the participation of African women in Qatar. 

The Warren Cycling Podcast Episode 33 starts off with Dean and Randy talking about the recent races in Pennsylvania.  Dean interviewed Chris Horner of Lupus, George Simpson of Gateway Harley Davidson, and UnitedHealthcare's Tanner Putt and Jonny Clarke.  Dean also spoke with Holowesko Citadel's Oscar Clark and Robin Carpenter after Reading 120 one day race.  The following day Dean caught up with Team Jamis' Eric Marcotte after his win at the Thompson Bucks County Classic Doylestown Criterium.  The Warren brothers continued their conversation talking about the Vuelta and strong riding from the Orica-BikeExchange team.  Randy and Dean look forward to the rest of the season's races and World Championships.  They are grateful for the Via Bicycle Cafe in Estes Park, Colorado for sponsoring the Warren Cycling Podcast. 

In this special edition Warren Cycling Podcast Randy and Dean Warren interview Colorado Bike Czar Ken Gart.  Ken works with Colorado's Governor John Hickenlooper to improve all aspects of cycling in Colorado with the goal to make the state the best in the nation for cyclists.  The Warren brothers introduce the interview, then discuss afterwards how all aspects of cycling works together to improve the sport we love. 

Nick Greeff joins Randy and Dean in Episode 31 to discuss the recent Gateway Cup in St. Louis where Nick just raced.  They continue talking about the recently completed Tour of Alberta which includes Dean's interview with overall winner Robin Carpenter (Holowesko-Citiadel) at 6:27 into podcast.  The Warren brothers and Nick talk about the Tour of Britain, then the Vuelta and which leads into another interview.  Dean talked to Cannondale-Drapac's Ben King on the second rest day in Spain at 29:33 into podcast.  Dean, Randy and Nick look at the final week at the Vuelta and end the podcast talking about high altitude riding.

In Episode 30 the Warren brothers catch up on what has been going on in Spain at the Vuelta.  Dean and Randy get a little side-tracked and end up with a discussion on the growing popularity of E-bikes.  They return to talking about the Tour of Alberta and the latest Axeon-Hagens Berman's victory (along with their highly successful season) by Colin Joyce in stage one in Canada.  Randy and Dean note that there is plenty of racing still to come in a longer season than usual due to the later date for the World Championships which will be held in mid October in Qatar.  

The Warren brothers convene once again to talk about all things cycling.  Randy and Dean mention the new location and dates for the US Professional National Road Championships then dive in to talk about the first week of racing in Spain at the Vuelta a Espana.  Randy and Dean recount the US's successes at the Olympics finishing as the nation with the third highest cycling medal count and the importance of that to future Olympic cycling funding.  They also talk about women's cycling and the Tour de l'Avenir and the Americans who are doing well there.  The Warrens look forward to the rest of the Vuelta and the upcoming cyclocross season.  

In Episode 28 Randy and Dean Warren discuss the latest in the world of cycling.  Randy had just returned from USA Cycling Masters Track Nationals where the final weekend of racing was cancelled due to rain.  The Warren brothers talk about the upcoming Olympic BMX racing as well as the completed Rio Track events.  Also discussed were the many smaller European races going on as well as the upcoming Vuelta a Espana and Tour de l'Avenir.  The Warren Cycling Podcast is sponsored by the Via Bicycle Cafe in Estes Park, Colorado.

In this special addition episode Dean Warren interviews two time mountain bike Olympian and London 2012 bronze medal winner Georgia Gould.  Georgia talks about how she became a mountain biker and the longevity of women cyclists.  She shares her Olympic experiences and talks about her transition from a world cup mountain bike racer to a domestic one looking to put more emphasis on the cyclo-cross season.  Randy and Dean then expound on the interview and discuss Olympic cycling.

In Episode 26 Randy and Dean converge via Skype to talk the latest in the world of cycling.  The Warren Cycling Podcast introduces their new sponsor the Via Bicycle Cafe.  The Via Bicycle Cafe located in Estes Park, Colorado is a bike shop and cafe, a great place to visit.  Dean recently interviewed LottoNL-Jumbo's Alexey Vermeulen who is in his first season at the World Tour level.  Alexey discusses his year so far and talks about his life in Girona, Spain.  He speaks about everything from a visit with friends to his cooking skills as well as all the top notch races he's taken part of.  Randy and Dean then rehash the men and women's Olympic road races, talk about the individual time trials and make mention of the track events that are just under way.  They also touch on the Tour of Utah and discover there's so much more to talk about so look for upcoming episodes.  

In their silver episode, number 25, Randy and Dean talk cycling as per usual.  Dean shares some more interviews he gathered from his day in Paris when the women raced on the Champs Elysees at La Course.  He spoke with UHC's Lauren Tamayo who won the US Criterium National Championship this year and will retire at the end of this season.  Dean also spoke to Tayler Wiles who rides for the Australian Orica-Bike Exchange team. The interviews continue as Dean sought out representatives from teams who have both women and men's squads and asked how integrated the teams are.  He spoke with Giant-Alpecin, Lotto-Soudal, and UHC.  The Warren brothers continued their cycling quips commenting on the success of non-world tour teams at the Tour of Utah, then moved on to discuss the upcoming Rio Olympics and the cycling events to come.  

In Episode 24 Randy and Dean continue their recap of the recently completed Tour de France.  The Warren brothers talk about Chris Froome's prospect of winning even more Tours and how in an ever more competitive environment racers compete all year long for wins.  They discuss Peter Sagan's (Tinkoff) bike throw win in Bern over Alexander Kristoff (Katusha).  Dean and Randy look towards the upcoming Tour of Utah and Olympic games.

Randy and Dean Warren discuss the latest in cycling with a heavy emphasis on the women's world tour La Course race which took place in Paris before the finish of the Tour de France on the Champs Elysees.  Dean was in Paris and interviewed Alison Tetrick (Cyclance Pro Cycling), Coryn Rivera (UnitedHealthcare), Brian Cookson (UCI president), Marianne Vos (Rabo-Liv), Lauren Stephens (Tibco-SVB), and Chloe Hosking (Wiggle-High5).  Dean also talked to Tayler Wiles (Orica), Lauren Tamayo (UHC), Peter Stetina (Trek-Segafredo) and Brent Bookwalter (BMC) which will feature in part 2 of the Warren Cycling Podcast La Course and Tour de France Review episode. Dean had a bike ride appointment which prompted a 2 part podcast coverage of the recent events in the world of cycling.

In Episode 22 Randy and Dean Warren review the Tour de France through stage 13 including the mayhem on the shortened Mont Ventoux stage 12.  The Warren brothers also mention Peter Sagan's (Tinkoff) amazing racing as well as Chris Froome's (Sky) grip on the yellow jersey after the individual time trial (stage 13).  Dean shares the good news of a possible show sponsor in the Estes Park, CO bicycle shop named 'Via Bicycle Cafe'. Randy and Dean mention Coryn Rivera's podium finish at the women's  Internationale Thuringen Rundfahrt race in Germany.  

Randy and Dean Warren recap Boels-Dolmans' Megan Guarnier's Giro Rosa stage race win.  American racers dominated the 9 day race in Italy, with Guarnier's teammate Evelyn Stevens taking 3 stage wins and second overall.  Wiggle-High5's Mara Abbott took a mountain top win as well and finished 5th overall.  The Warren brothers discuss all that has happened thus far in the Tour de France, including the successes of British riders.  There were breakaway wins and the competitions for the various jersey's remain extremely close.  Randy and Dean look forward to the upcoming stages including this week's Mont Ventoux climb.

Randy and Dean Warren recap the first three stages of the Tour de France from their hometown in Michigan.  The Warren brothers talk about the winners and mishaps and the impact on the rest of the race as well as look to the weekend's first climbing stages. Randy and Dean also talk about their recent time in Louisville, Kentucky for the USA Cycling Amateur Road Championships featuring the Elite Cat 1, U23 and Junior racing in the individual time trial, road race and criterium.  The brothers highlight the first couple stages of the Giro Rosa, a 10 day women's world tour stage race in Italy where American Evelyn Stevens currently wears the pink leader's jersey.

In Episode 18 The Warren brothers are joined again by Taylor Warren, who just completed the North Star Grand Prix domestic stage race.  The Minnesota race was won by Evan Huffman of Rally Cycling on the men's side, and Team Tibco-SVB's Brainna Walle in the pro women's race.  Dean spoke to both overall winners as well as with the Stillwater criterium stage winners Brad Huff (Rally) and Ellen Noble (North Memorial Health Care) as well as the Pro Women's Uptown Criterium stage winner Skylar Schneider (ISCorp Cycling Team) and her sister Samantha who placed third that day.  In an episode filled with interviews the Warren Cycling Podcast also spoke to Axeon-Hagens Berman's National Road Race Champion Gregory Daniel.  Early in the podcast John Murphy of UnitedHealthcare talks about cycling in the Asheville, North Carolina area and his race season.  Randy, Taylor and Dean talk about the North Star Grand Prix, the Tour of Switzerland and the upcoming Tour de France.  They also mention the latest women's world tour ev

Randy and Dean Warren are joined by John Hickox owner of Zofietsje Bicycle Repair business in the Netherlands near Utrecht.  John provides a Dutch perspective of the recently completed Giro d' Italia as this year's race started in the Netherlands and nearly finished with a Dutch winner.  Dean and Randy also go over the recent Philadelphia International Cycling Classic race and they discuss the in progress Criterium du Dauphine, a tune up race for the Tour de France.  

Dean and Randy Warren introduce the Warren Cycling Podcast special edition Jens Voigt Interviews Podcast.  Dean interviewed Voigt back in 2011 prior to the start of the USA Pro Challenge race in Colorado.  In the first interview Jens talks about his early experience training in Colorado, about why he believes he has become popular to the fans, and about what he has seen as improvements in cycling over his career.  In 2011 he speculates how much longer he would race, and Dean asks what he might do once he retires from racing.  In the second interview Dean asks Jens how he is adapting to his life as a retired pro cyclist.  Voigt describes the different jobs he is doing and his ongoing connection with cycling.  Jens talks about his autobiography that has just been published, and his satisfaction with his life in general.  And Jens did begin his career racing for an Australian team - the Giant-AIS Cycling Team, and he had raced at altitude prior to racing in Colorado, but in 2011 was his first experience racing i
