Miss America 2016 Will the Miss America organization re-sign with Atlantic City? She already inked a new 3 year deal with the ABC-TV network, based on the one million extra viewers this past year. Yeah. The ratings were that good. Now it's time to lock up another 3 years in keeping this historic event here at Boardwalk Hall. Will the CRDA cough up $3 million? We hope so. We also hope Miss A will use a casino showroom for the preliminary events. No need to burn through so much cash using historic Boardwalk Hall for the sparsely attended, but highly entertaining, pre-lims. Captain Dave Striped Bass seem to like the 50 degree waters off of Atlantic City and South Jersey. According to Captain Dave of the Absecon Sportsman Center, he says it's the best striper fishing he's ever seen in the Atlantic City area. One caveat though, most of the fish are being caught one to two miles off shore. The action in the surf is spotty. Click to listen. A 10 cent surcharge or so-called symbolic penalty fee could be charged for using single use plastic bags if Longport commissioners and residents give the thumbs up during a monumental ordinance 2nd reading and vote on Nov. 20.
