Algene Sajery was Kate’s classmate at Milton Hershey School, a private co-educational boarding school for underprivileged children. Admitted at age 14, her family fled Liberia, West Africa after President William Tolbert was overthrown and murdered in a violent coup d'état. A graduate of Howard University, Algene has dedicated her career to advancing human rights, rule of law, global health, food security, and economic development in the developing world. She previously served as vice president of the Office of External Affairs and head of Global Gender Equity Initiatives at the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) for the Biden-Harris Administration.
