Isn’t it easy to look at other people and think they’re a bit odd sometimes? I mean let’s just be real for a second. Most of the time we think people are a bit odd when they somehow function differently than we function. Then, before we know it we are thinking we are better than someone OR someone else is better than us. Today I take a break from my typical devotional form and dive deeply into cultural relevancy. Admittedly, I'm a little hesitant to go this route today. In a culture that celebrates headlines and often fails to listen for more than just a few seconds I run the risk of being misunderstood.    My heart is truly burdened for reconciliation and life for all. 

No one in their right mind would go confess to their doctor that they get all the nutrients they need from veggie straws and fruit snacks. Those manufactured fruits and veggies just aren't going to cut it! Could it be, though, that we sometimes try to manufacture our Spiritual fruit? Jesus gave us clear instructions on this.... we discuss it on today's podcast. 

Have you ever been a shepherd? Do you know how stinky that job is? Literally! The shepherd's in the story of the birth of Christ have an unexpected response to the news that the Messiah has come.  But given the required faithfulness to be a good shepherd, is their response all that unexpected? 

God had his hand in the entire story of the birth of Christ - the protection of the wise men is no different.  Take a listen and consider what area God is calling you towards obedience in!

Elizabeth didn't have to respond well to the baby in Mary's belly. She could have condemned her for being pregnant out of wedlock, or too young, or irresponsible...  We don't see her respond that way, though, we see her response as one that is filled with the Holy Spirit and as one that gives life to Mary.
