Spirit, soul and ego are three main areas of personal development. Spiritual growth calls us into communion with the Universal Life Force, the God of our own understanding (or misunderstanding.) Soul work is about finding and fulfilling our individual purpose in this lifetime, bringing the gifts we were born to manifest into the larger system. Ego or personality self is the vehicle which moves us through ordinary reality of being human; work, relationships, family, society and how we organize within our small "s" self.  Spirit, soul and ego interact and inform each other in complex ways. It is powerful to notice that our relationship with our stuff can be a metaphor for our emotional, spiritual and relational life. The good new is that changing our external circumstances can affect change in our inner world as well. Life is an ongoing conversation with Source. Making space to listen and receive what the Universe wants to offer is an important part of the exchange. Personal Power can be lost, drained, stolen or given away. Personal power or life energy can also be reclaimed, regained and restored. In Spiritual Psi-Kology, we take the concept of power literally, as if it had a form or substance. Using the powerful tools of Shamanism, hypnotherapy and body-centered mindfulness, we can experience and work with power in direct ways that allow tremendous healing, renewal and empowerment unavailable through Western medical and psychological protocols.  Power can be lost through accident, trauma, abuse and neglect and codependent or dysfunctional relationships. From this perspective, we all suffer power loss in one form or another and the effects can be devastating. What does it mean to be conscious, unconscious or supra-conscious? Our level of consciousness is like a lens we see the world through. People are complicated and our unique algorithm of experience, outlook and personal development determine our consciousness. Our individual consciousness determines our life experience. If our worldview, or level of consciousness is one of fear we will have a very different perspective than if we view the world through the lens of love. What does it mean to love, really? Do we think about what we bring to our relationships? Or, do we think about what we can get from them? Is all love the same? Do we love our dog the same way we love our mother, or our friends? Often neediness, security and caretaking masquerade as love.  Love is an exchange. In it's most mature versions, love is not a feeling. Love is an action, an intention and way of interacting in the world. The idealized image or archetype of Mother is often very different from the imperfect women who hold that title. Words are powerful and many of us have a concept of the perfect mother unconsciously imbedded in our psyche that can be the source of both blame and shame if we aren't aware of it.
