Folge 4 und wir haben uns Federico Cacciapaglia eingeladen. Der ursprünglich aus Italien stammende Zeichner und Autor veröffentlichte im vergangenen Jahr die Nachhaltigkeitsfabel „Die Growls“ im Jaja Verlag. Nun erscheint ein Comic-Kochbuch („Mjam Mjam“) und das nächste große Projekt steht auch kurz vor der Vollendung. Darüber und was europäische Comic-Festivals von der ComicInvasionBerlin lernen können reden wir in dieser Folge. It's episode 4 and we've invited Federico Cacciapaglia to talk with us about his work. Hailing from Italy he came to Germany as he didn't see a way of publishing his work in his homecountry. Last year his sustainability fable "Die Growls" came out via Jaja. His latest work is a lovley little comic cook book ("Mjam Mjam") and his next big project is almost finished. Moreover, Cacciapaglia tells us what European comic festivals can learn from ComicInvasionBerlin.

Folge 3! Wir plaudern mit Beatrice Davies über ihren Weg von Italien und den USA nach Berlin. Davies gewann im vergangenen Jahr den CIB-Wettbewerb und erzählt uns, wie sie auf die Idee kam. Außerdem geht es um ihren wöchentlichen Webcomic „Samurai's Visual Journal“ sowie Davies Comics mit und über Obdachlose in Berlin. Episode 3! Our guest is Beatrice Davies and we chat about how she ended up in Berlin, her winning comic of last year's CIB-Competition and her webcomic "Samurai's Visual Journal". Finally we talk about her comics for the Berlin homeless newspaper "Straßenfeger".

Lara und Carlos sprechen mit Robert Günther, der als Lehrer einer Gemeinschaftsschule mit Schüler/innen Comics macht. Außerdem ist er Leiter der Jugendkunstschule Mitte, an der er einen Comic-Kurs anbieten möchte, für den er auch noch eine/n Comic-Künstler/in sucht. Und selber macht er auch Comics – im Eigenverlag Jute Comics. In episode two, Lara and Carlos chat with creator Robert Günther, who specialises in short comic stories. He publishes his work under his own imprint Jute Comics. After successfully doing a comic project with his students about discrimination at the interdenominational school he teaches at, Robert wants to offer a comic workshop at the Jugendkunstschule Mitte.

Es ist soweit: Wir starten in die zweite Staffel des ComicInvasionBerlin-Podcasts! Lara und Carlos reden mit Clairikine über die diesjährige CIB. Neben dem Hauptfestival geht es um die Organisation, das Thema, den Wettbewerb, die Satelliten-Events und darum, wie ihr mithelfen könnt. The time has come: We're kicking off season two of the ComicInvasionBerlin podcast! Lara and Carlos chat with Clairikine about this year's event. Additionally to the main festival in May they talk about organisational stuff, the contest, the satellite events and of course: how can YOU help make the festival awesome!

In der letzten Sendung gibt es ein paar Eindrücke vom Festival. Wir sitzen mit Steffen vom NerdNerdNerd-Podcast und Markus von Yay, Comics! im Hof des Festivals. Zwischendurch gibt es außerdem noch zwei kurze Gespräche mit Juan Useche, dem Gewinner des Förderpreises 2015 und Christopher De La Garza, der mit seinem Projekt Hemispheres auf der Invasion war und außerdem die Satellite-Events mitorganisiert. In our final episode for 2016 we're on the festival and talk with CIB visitors and comic podcasters Steffen (NerdNerdNerd-Podcast) and Markus (Yay, Comics!) about the festival. Additionally we have short talks with two more artists on the festival. Juan Useche is last years contest winner and Christopher De La Garza is with his project Hemispheres on the festival and also part of the satellite events orga team.

Episode Acht und die ComicInvasionBerlin ist fast da! Wir sprechen mit dem britischen Comic-Künstler Ash Pure, der uns von seiner Zukunftsvision in „The Lion & The Unicorn“ erzählt. It's episode eight and ComicInvasionBerlin is almost here! We talk to the british comic artist Ash Pure, who gives us an insight into his futuristic world of "The Lion & The Unicorn".

In der siebten Ausgabe unseres CIB-Podcasts reden wir mit Laetitia Graffart und Aike Arndt. Laetitia macht das deutsch-französische Comicmagazin Beton und Aike zeichnet für Beton und hat bei Zwerchfell „Die Zeit und Gott!“ und „Das Nichts und Gott“ veröffentlicht. Außerdem erzählen wir euch noch mal die Satellite-Events der letzten Woche vor dem Hauptfestival und am Ende der Sendung gibt es das vorläufige Tagesprogramm der ComicInvasion. In episode seven of our CIB podcast we talk with Laetitia Graffart and Aike Arndt. Episode 6 bringt euch die Satellite-Events! Wir gehen die fast täglich (!) stattfindenden Veranstaltungen für euch kurz durch. Danach sprechen wir mit Annette Köhn, der Gründerin und Chefin des Jaja Verlags. Sie verrät uns wie es zur Verlagsgründung kam und was für eine Philosophie hinter dem Programm steht. Als Bonusgast erzählt uns Alexandra Rügler von ihrem Buch „The Ballad of the Barefoot Bandit“, das im Jaja Verlag erschienen ist. The satellite program for Comic Invasion Berlin is in full swing. So in episode 6 we present you all of the events. Afterwards, we talk to Annette Köhn, founder and boss of publisher Jaja Verlag. She tells us how Jaja came into being and the philosophy behind the program: If she likes it, she publishes it. Simple and honest as that. That makes jaja so special as it is not strictly a pure comic publish her, but a publisher of "finely illustrated concoctions". In Episode 5 stellen wir euch zunächst die erste Hälfte des Comic Invasion Berlin Satelliten-Programms vor. Danach haben wir Adrian vom Baur zu Gast. Neben seinen eigenen Comics wie „Hipsters“ reden wir auch über 24 Stunden Comics und die Anthologie Jazam!, die er mitherausgibt. In episode 5 of the CIB-Cast we give you a quick overview of the first half of the festival's satellite programme. Then we talk with Adrian vom Baur about his comics like "Hipsters", what are 24hour-comcis and the anthology Jazam! which he co-publishes.

In Episode Vier plaudern wir mir Claire „Clairikine“ Webster über ihre Comics, wo die unterschiedlichen Reize von autobiographischen und fiktionalen Comics liegen und wie es kommt, dass sie gefühlt 1000 Sprachen spricht. Außerdem reden wir über ihre Reihe „Master of Survival“.  Am Ende gibt's wie immer ein paar Veranstaltungstipps. In episode four we chat with Claire „Clairikine“ Webster about her own comics, the fascination of both auto-biographical and fictional comics and why it seems that she speaks 1000 languages. Claire tells us, that their parents are American but they lived a long time in France, and some time in Sweden and now she's in Berlin. One of her comics is about how she came to live in Berlin. We also talk about her series „Master of Survival“ and what her future plans are.

In Episode drei stellen wir euch das Mondo-Magazin vor. Dazu haben wir zwei der Gründer eingeladen, Tim Gaedke und Jeff Chi. Beide sind seit einigen Jahren als Comic-Künstler aktiv und haben nach anfänglichen Webcomics mittlerweile auch Gedrucktes veröffentlicht.

In der zweiten Episode gibt es neben den aktuellen Neuigkeiten zum Wettbewerb, den Tischen und Satelliten Events ein Interview mit Ali Fitzgerald. Die Künstlerin engagiert sich u.a. für Flüchtlinge, indem sie in einem der Unterkünfte Workshops zum Comicszeichnen gibt. The second episode gives you the recent updates on the CIB contest, the table booking and the satellite events. Guest of this show is Ali Fitzgerald, who hosts comic workshops at a refugee shelter.She tells us that working with the refugees has been a great experience for both sides so far. The workshops themselves are mostly done by drawing due to the language barrier and although most of the people in the shelter are totally unfamiliar with the medium comic, they took up the idea quickly. The drawings vary from landscapes to actual memories.

Lara und Carlos sprechen mit Marc Seestaedt über die Comic Invasion Berlin. Außerdem erzählen wir euch, was wir in diesem Podcast eigentlich vorhaben.  In the inaugural episode of the CIB Podcast Carlos and Lara introduce themselves and the idea of the podcast. Guest Marc Seestedt, who is one of the founders and organisers of the Invasion, tells about the origin and progress of the festival. We talk about the satellite events, projects like comics workshops for refugees and Bildkorrektur, and how YOU can participate (tables etc.). We conclude the episode with some event suggestions in the coming days and weeks (see shownotes).
