  • Who Is Satoshi Nakamoto

    20/06/2018 Duración: 06min

This Hawaiian guy, Ronald Keala Kua Maria, is claiming to be Satoshi Nakamoto (the creator of Bitcoin). I don't think he is, and if he's the guy that I think he is then this fool has a history of trying to scam people; I think he's just trying to cash in on something popular to make a few bucks. #cryptocurrency #cryptocurrenciesBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/random-tech-thoughts--2829929/support.

  • What I Check When I Do A Disk Cleanup

    17/06/2018 Duración: 04min

Windows has a built-in method for cleaning out unnecessary files how to free up hard drive space, it's called "Disk Cleanup". But disk cleanup has a lot of options, and you may not know which boxes to check; nothing to do here is really going to wreck your computer, but when you're trying to get rid of temporary files and don't want to delete something that might be useful in the future it's good to know what the different boxes mean.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/random-tech-thoughts--2829929/support.

  • Connecting To An NFS Share For A Visual FoxPro Application

    11/06/2018 Duración: 04min

m -o file access=777 timeout=4 \\IP ADDRESS\DIRECTORY [drive letter]: So, I have to support a legacy visual-foxpro application and a Amazon WorkSpaces (AWS) environment that relies on a NFS file share. You have to be particular when you connect to these because Foxpro database applications require a locking and have trouble with permissions.Sign up for a Spreaker pro plan with this link to save: https://www.spreaker.com/plans?coupon_code=thetalkinggeekBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/random-tech-thoughts--2829929/support.

  • Creating A "Virtual NAS" Using An AWS File Share

    10/06/2018 Duración: 25min

I need to create a network accessible file share for my local pc and two Amazon workspaces to access. I found instructions online, and even a video, but they didn't cover everything. So here I go though creating an S3 bucket, setting up and EC2 instance, creating the file gateway, setting up the file share, and then connecting to it with a drive letter on Windows using NFS. With AWS (Amazon Web Services) this is all possible, and not even too hard to do; it just took a while to figure out how a few things tie together and what relies on what.
