Joe Mihalic became a racing legend in the Pittsburgh, Pa. area, and also competed in NASCAR’S Winston Cup Series.   Joe began his illustrious racing career running a jalopy at Large Speedway, located in the suburbs of Pittsburgh, in 1950. He became a star in the Pittsburgh Racing Association, competing at tracks such as Heidelberg Raceway, South Park Speedway, Monduke Speedway, Claridge Speedway, Clinton Speedway, Motordrome, and other facilities in that era. During his long career on short tracks, Joe raced for several car owners. He had great success with the number 60 Lou Viglione team at Heidelberg in the early 1970’s.

Brent Marks (Sprint Cars), Jonathan Davenport (Late Models) and Brett Hearn (DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds) won Saturday’s feature races in the NGK NTK World of Outlaws World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte.  While Brad Sweet, Brandon Sheppard and Matt Sheppard celebrated championships, Brent Marks ended his season in the best way possible Saturday night: lifting a winner's trophy in the World of Outlaws World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte. Marks was joined in Victory Lane by Jonathan Davenport, who won the 40-lap World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Models feature, and the legendary Brett Hearn, who claimed the 30-lap Super DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds
