Lots of new releases this week. Lots of Celtic music. Lots of artists coming to town and lots of dissenting voices. Get out and vote, people!!

Canada legalizes pot this week, so a few songs on the topic. Also, features on The Fretless and The East Pointers as part of "Celtic Colours West" - and a look at what's happening this week at the real Celtic Colours in Cape Breton.

This week's show featured loads of new releases from Cuba, Haiti, Canada, U.K., and more. Ended up with a phone interview from Folk Royalty Persona Judy Collins. What a wonderful woman! What a wonderful singer!

The sudden and shocking death of Rogue volunteer Mary Bentley dominated the show this week. We also lost Rachid Taha, the Algerian Rai singer who inspired The Clash to write Rock The Casbah. New music from Marc Ribot, Mike Farris, Richard Thompson, and stunning Haitian singer Moonlight Benjamin were also featured, and there was a spotlight on Craig Cardiff too.

This week's show featured many of the artists playing next weekend's Edmonton Folk Music Festival. I call it the Rolls Royce of Folk Festivals. Probably the best one in Canada, and therefore the best on the planet!

On the eve of Canada Day this show featured lots of Canadains from every province - and Yukon. Also paid homage to Robert Plant, who played a majestic gig last night at the QE. Previews of the Vancouver and Mission Folk Festivals, and lots of Roguery as well!
