Before Miniski returned to Vancouver, he threw down a proper set at the HIFI Club as part of his event series with Substation titled "Nocturne". For the last 5 years, Ryan Wells has been cementing his reputation as one of Western Canada's top young dj/producers. Hailing from Nelson, BC and residing in Vancouver, Ryan Wells is a popular act in the festival circuit, having headlined Shambhala and Bass Coast several times as well as an appearance last year at the Dirtybird Campout in California. We are thrilled to have Ryan contribute to the SUBCAST mix series, and not unlike his live sets, this melodic tidal wave of a mix will take you on a journey through house with hints of jazzy loops, a lil' caribbean spice, and some gushing atmospheric pads.

One Less of Them Delivers a nice calm meditative Subcast for your mid September. Joel West leads the creative partnership and soon-to-be label at groundwerkvancouver.com. Groundwerk organizes monthly meet-ups for electronic music producers in Vancouver, Canada. Recently Joel has opened for Kevin & Dantiez Saunderson at MIA, and played B2B with The GOAT opening for Dave Angel at Gorg-O-Mish. In July 2016 Joel moderated Groundwerk's panel talk on creating and sustaining electronic music communities at Bass Coast festival. Joel is also an actor and improvisor who loves coffee and cats. Marco Cardoza has been chipping away at bringing techno to life in Calgary for quite some time. Having found his roots in deep tech house and then earning his chops DJING at Habitat Living Sound, around 2013, it appeared to us that he succumb to his true calling; techno. To scratch the itch, he's started an explorative event with cohort Intellekt at Habitat as well as joined forces with the recently vested, all-in-one-super-collective "Techno Black". Marco played a role in Substation's early days getting off of our feet with a contribution of both a single on our Sampler #3 as well as a super cool remix of Rusty Meeks' footwork charmer "Das Fuss". We haven't forgotten about his contribution and we are excited to see what he does next. Enjoy this 1:30 mins of techno bliss.

Our latest Subcast comes from Vancouver's Sam Demoe. When he's not busy DJING, making tracks and hosting parties in Vancity, he works as a graphic designer and visual creative. His latest creative projects include a few immersive art shows featuring works by worldwide artists on the subjects of Bart Simpson (Bootleg Bart) and Anime. Sam has graced some of the largest festival stages in Western Canada. His influential art style and sound is making waves and we are excited to have him on board for Subcast 15, download and enjoy!
