Rav Simcha Hochbaum grew up on Staten Island, in New York. Beginning in the second grade, when he heard about Avraham's Aliyah in Lech Lecha, he became focused on the idea of returning to the Land of Israel. He and his wife Leah were able to make that happen in 1995, moving to Hevron, the city of our forefathers and foremothers. Parents of six wonderful children, they still live in Hevron and that is where Goel sat to speak with Rav Simcha about his story.

Gabe Boxer is a financial wizard and the literal Kosher Guru. He, along with 30 other Americans, was on the One Israel Fund Solidarity Mission last week with Eve Harow. It was an intense 3 days spent visiting with Israelis of all types, feeding soldiers and refugees, volunteering, participating in security demos, visiting graves of fallen soldiers and so much more. After a day in the Shomron and another in Yehuda the group went south to the site of the Nova dance festival where so many were killed on October 7th, as well as a community that was infiltrated and where residents were murdered that same day. The unity, bravery and determination of Israelis is astonishing and for all, including Eve, it was an unforgettable experience. As the clock struck midnight, and we entered 2024, Hamas made sure Israel knew that its rockets and missiles could still reach the center of the country. Around 20 rockets were fired last night, as Gazans cheered the projectiles on (innocent civilians?). Nevertheless, on today's Israel Uncensored, Josh Hasten says that Israel is winning the war, and that Hamas, its leaders, and supporters, must all be wiped off the face of the earth for the good of humanity.

Dr. Steve Herman has toured Israel with Eve Harow more than once. When he arrived with his wife in October, however, it was to volunteer his prolific skills as a thoracic surgeon at the Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon near Gaza. He speaks about the experience, the life altering, devastating wounds suffered by healthy young people and the damage to so many lives due to the Hamas barbarism. Israel does not distinguish between military and civilian hospitals and the war has impacted all of society. Dr. Herman functioned professionally even while under rocket attacks and appreciated the devotion that all the staff- irrespective of religion or ethnicity- showed to the wounded. May he return to Israel only to visit the historical and Biblical sites he loves so much and not patch together broken bodies. Malkah Fleisher grew up in Sherman, Texas, in a strongly Jewish but non-observant family – the only Jewish kid in her high school. Through various twists and turns, she finally arrived in Israel in 2003, and has been impacting the Jewish people ever since. Malkah’s story is fascinating and meaningful. Goel Jasper sat with Malkah recently in her Efrat home, to listen to her story, laugh, and even shed a tear as she told him about visiting the Kotel for the first time, bringing along with her all of her ancestors. Eve Harow speaks with Netanyahu’s former chief of staff (and her nephew), Ari Harow (ariharow@gmail.com), on his new book ‘My Brother’s Keeper: Netanyahu, Obama and the Year of Terror and Conflict that changed the Middle East Forever.’ Originally written as a historical look at Israel in 2014 from someone who was at the time on the very inside of Israeli politics, the timing of the book’s release gives a deeper perspective and needed context on what’s happening in Israel since October 7th. The relationship with the US, internal Israeli issues and challenges, the wider focus on Iran and global Islamic Jihad are all there. Hamas’s kidnapping of the 3 boys set off a chain of events, including Operation Protective Edge in Gaza in 2014, which ended without a clear victory. And here we are today. The IDF on Sunday displayed videos of a massive Hamas terror tunnel it discovered near the Erez Crossing, just 400 meters away from Israeli territory. On today's Israel Uncensored, Josh Hasten argues that Erez, which has been used as the only pedestrian entryway from Gaza to Israel, should be shut down. The Oct. 7 attacks taught us that terrorists in Gaza took advantage of Israel's humanitarian gestures - allowing Gazans to receive medical care in our hospitals, and also took advantage of work permits in Israel - to feed Hamas intelligence, which ultimately was used against us.
