Conrad is constantly learning new things about God. He likens this to reading the Bible and having sudden new revelations about things he has read many times before. He talks about how this spiritual progression has been there the whole time and he is only now seeing it everywhere.Conrad begins by talking about how, as Christians, we are called to move from a place of fearing God to one of loving Him. He then talks about how Jesus defines love, saying that we are called to love God with all our heart, mind, and strength.Jesus says that those who love Him will keep His commandments, and He will manifest Himself to them. Judas asks why Jesus will not manifest Himself to the world if He loves them. Jesus explains that if someone loves Him, they will keep His commandments. This is a contrast between those who believe and those who love Jesus. The Bible talks about how the heart 'gathers iniquity to itself'. I found a parallel with cognitive bias. This is where we automatically filter out information that challenges our presuppositions.
