Anxious for Nothing, Part II: The Transformed Life
07/08/2025 Duración: 55minToday Mary continues what she started back on July 24, looking long and hard at anxiety and the plague of worry that has many Americans - and a considerable number of believers - tied up in knots. Oftentimes, unfairly, we simply throw a Bible verse at a person who is living in a pattern of anxiety, as if that is an instant cure. And, technically, it is - but there is something about the hole of anxiety that seems to require some critical thinking, AND doing, to get free. Anxiety, and it's offspring, depression, (Proverbs 12:25) are not what God has for us, and so if we do find ourselves in such a season, there is no reason to founder and get sidetracked, or worse yet, shipwrecked. There are several practical things we can do and there IS a way forward. We look at psychology, an opposing worldview that offers no hope, and we talk about all the ways that anxiety wants to get hold and linger, even through spiritual warfare. Our enemy does not play fair. So, we will stare this down together and come away with too

Headlines: The People of the Book
06/08/2025 Duración: 54minTim and Mary take a look at the latest news cycle, with the specific underlying theme of the greatest headline in a generation, that of the modern nation of Israel. Much of the church has left the position of Israel being the main player in God's last days plan. What are some of the things we are following right now? The UN and their obsession with a 2-state solution has caused the world to think that 1) if they say it often enough it will happen, and 2) it IS the solution to the "Mideastmess". Israel expert Jim Fletcher asks the question, "what will happen when France (and other co-conspirators) declares a Palestinian state? Absolutely nothing. The US and Israel are nowhere to be found here politically or philosophically. Also today we talk about the 9th of Av, an annual commemoration and period of mourning in Israel that occurs each Summer at some point. This is a day to remember the destruction of both Jewish temples, but so much more - a very interesting dot-connecting exercise. We also look at why we c

Claude Stauffer: Zechariah – A Major Message from a Minor Prophet
05/08/2025 Duración: 55minPASTOR CLAUDE STAUFFER On today's podcast, we welcome back Pastor Claude Stauffer of Calvary Chapel of Hope in Amityville, NY. Pastor Claude is a graduate of Hofstra University (B.A. Sociology) and Asbury Theological Seminary (Master of Divinity). He has been in ministry since 1986 and presently serves as the senior pastor of Calvary Chapel of Hope, a church he has served from its beginning in 1993. He served bi-vocationally as a pastor and social worker for 16 years. He is the author of over 30 books, the latest of which is a thorough look at the person and work of the Holy Spirit and has a vital radio ministry to the Northeast and beyond. Today we look at the first few chapters of Zechariah in order to understand the who, what, and how of being used by Him. Primarily, the key verse is "Not by might, not by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord " (Zech. 4:6). So much of what goes on in the church seems to point to a generation that thinks worship-tainment, a best-selling self-help book, and programs are th

Jeremy Lundgren: The Pursuit of Safety and the Illusion of Control
04/08/2025 Duración: 55minOn today’s FRESH NEW Stand Up for the Truth podcast, host Dave Wager talks with Jeremy Lundgren, president of Nicolet Bible Institute and author of The Pursuit of Safety: A Theology of Danger, Risk, and Security. Together, they unpack what it really means to live safely in a world that doesn’t guarantee it. From kids on playground slides to airline mechanics and foolproof machines, the conversation highlights how modern culture often confuses safety with control. Jeremy explains that true security begins with obedience to God. Drawing from Proverbs 19:16 and real-world examples, he shows that safety isn’t about eliminating risk but about walking in wisdom and purpose. Dave and Jeremy also reflect on how we process fear, trust, and mortality in a fallen world. Whether it’s cancer, car accidents, or uncertainty about the future, the conversation points listeners to the God who holds all things together. Jeremy emphasizes the difference between existing and truly living. Understanding our limitations helps us t

Patrick Wood: Land of the Free, or Home of the Brave New World?
01/08/2025 Duración: 55minMary welcomes back the expert on all things AI, Patrick Wood; author, lecturer, economist and a leading and critical expert on Sustainable Development, Green Economy, Agenda 21, Agenda 2030 and Technocracy. Now more than ever we need his insights because the White House just released "America's AI Action Plan" which should concern us all. There is something uniquely oxymoronic about our President, on the one hand a nationalist with America's best interests in mind; born in a century with no tech and in a nation with completely different sensibilities on every level, and yet determined to see America lead the AI pace in the world. Of course you could easily argue he is just competitive, a driven dealmaker who always wins and really does want the best for Americans. And yet. AI is not something that is developed or dispensed by politicians or bureaucrats, but by technocrats who also want to win - and bring the world under the spell and bondage of artificial intel. What is this AI Action Plan and how will it aff

Linda Harvey: Reading, Writing, and Propaganda
31/07/2025 Duración: 55minMary welcomes back Linda Harvey of Mission America to talk about the upcoming school year, and the propaganda calendar that is put into place from the moment they walk in the doors, to the last day in June during "Pride Month". We take a look at all the woke and brainwashing events that kids are subject to, none of which have anything to do with the concept of education. Wouldn't it be great to have, say, something like "Holocaust Remembrance Day" to key in on actual injustice, historically factual and worthy of study? Or is it better to teach on perversion and shame those kids who don't want to partake? Is it possible for our kids to be change agents, or is opting out the best choice? We also look at some rulings that might allow a lot of these weekly LGBTQ events to go away quietly. Teaching kids to make it in the real world with academics would be quite the concept in schools today. Linda is on the front lines of the culture wars and she is up on all the things we need to watch in order to protect our fami

Headlines: The Information Superhighway
30/07/2025 Duración: 55minOriginally coined in the 1990’s, the Information Superhighway was a term used to describe digital communication systems that is mostly associated with then Senator and future Vice President Al Gore. The basic idea was to be able to provide access to information to all, no matter what the level of income was. With the explosion of the World Wide Web, essentially, the Internet became the information superhighway. Other resources describe the concept as “…directly connects millions of people, each both a consumer of information and a potential provider…” or “a route or network for the high-speed transfer of information…” or “something that will link every home or office to everything else – movies and television shows, shopping services…” And it changed the world. No one saw it coming, any more than people alive in 1890 anticipated the US Freeway system. With that in mind, today's news cycle gets some context as we talk about all the headlines fit for a Wednesday! We start off with trending news, including the h

JB Hixson: Assurance of Things Hoped For, Evidence of Things Unseen
29/07/2025 Duración: 55minDr. JB Hixson Stand Up welcomes back JB Hixson to talk about faith and the free exercise thereof. What begins as that which saves us opens a door to a brand new life as a new creation. As we begin this life, what is important? Faith comes by hearing so that systematic study of the Scriptures must undergird all we do as our hearts and minds are transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit, the same power that rose our Saviour from the grave. Walking by faith then is the workout of our lives! What does that look like? Of course, God has a different path for each of us and no one can walk that walk for us. But God's word applies to ALL of us! What a glorious operating manual for all things pertaining to life and godliness. All means all here, we can assume that. So as we move forward, what are some of the things that might challenge our faith, make it like gold tried in the furnace? When things don't make sense, when our prayers seem to bounce off the ceiling, when people hurt us or betray us or when tragedy str

John Haller: A Treasonous Plot, An AI Scheme, and a Silicon Cabal
25/07/2025 Duración: 55minJohn Haller is back to bring us headlines from any and every corner and byway of the "information superhighway". Remember when the internet was called that? A highway of information, bumper to bumper and filled with potholes? Well, they had that right. And it's very hard to find an exit ramp if you are on it, because it gets weirder by the day. Today we talk about a treasonous conspiracy that frankly, most Americans will not have any trouble believing - the Clinton/Obama/DOJ/Biden mafia circle of influence on American politics circa 2016. We all know that something went really wrong and still, few of us think anything will come of it. We also talk about AI and the dangers, which change daily - and affect every person in the Western world at least. For now. Soon enough it will engulf the globe via technocracy. Then there's Turkey and it's love fest with Qatar. Back in 2023, following the Hamas brutality against Israel, Qatar was hosting some negotiations, something that should have sent up multiple red flags.

Mary Danielsen: Traveling Hopefully, Anxious for Nothing
24/07/2025 Duración: 55minDid you ever wake up in the morning with rampant negativity sucking the life out of you? The flesh just doesn't want to face the same troubles and anxieties you went to bed with. This is not only common, but it is also a sure way for the enemy of hope to get us defeated before we even put one foot on the floor. Recognizing the pattern is the start of traveling more hopefully, taking those thoughts captive. Today we look at some of the ways to be more hopeful, be less gullible, and all in all have a more positive outlook that stems from unshakeable faith in the Lord, for everything big and small. If the enemy's greatest tool is deception, our most potent weapon is truth and lots of it. I always figure, if we are not depressed from time to time, we aren't paying close enough attention. But that needn't be our way of life. Head into the wind, against the current - that would be us, and we get weary. Sometimes we get anxious, and it can be debilitating. How can we get that out of our lives? Is it possible? Oh yes

Headlines: And the Beat Goes On
23/07/2025 Duración: 56minAnother Wednesday, another news round up! Tim and Mary capture a slice of global living with Canada's antisemitism problem, AI malfunctions, and various topics that point to a culture that you might think cannot hold together for long. Why is Canada so infected with Israel Derangement Syndrome? What possesses the PA to condemn a food truck rally in Jerusalem for being too Jewish? Psychotic levels of envy? Possibly. We also look at a great piece on archaeology as apologetic - with no absence of evidence anymore of the historical accuracy for the Bible, how does this change how we present truth to people, here in the 21st century? And if you think back on your worst day on the job, it likely won't hold a candle to the guy whose rogue AI task went berserk. Speaking of berserk, try not to let the day's lunacy override your hope in all things biblical. Juan Valdes: The Foundations and Fundamentals of Critical Thinking
22/07/2025 Duración: 55minMary welcomes back Juan Valdes of Reasons for Hope to discuss the hows and whys of critical thinking in a post-truth world. Humans bring many biases, indoctrinations and emotions to so many issues of the day, and seem content to take most things at face value instead of thinking things through in context. Words have meaning, and even before we speak, our thoughts have already given birth to a multitude of possible words - and actions. No believer can ever hope to be an effective apologist without understanding the importance of thinking things through - with the goal of giving an answer to all who ask about our hope. Social media, in fact, is probably the main contributor to the destruction of meaningful discourse in the public square. We talk about how critical thinking is indispensable in our lives at any age. Juan is the senior pastor of a Spanish-speaking congregation in Florida and has worked at a Christian school as both a chaplain and a teacher for more than 20 years. His educational background include

Joel Settecase: When Evidence Isn’t Enough: Reaching the Hard-Hearted
21/07/2025 Duración: 55minWhat does it mean to be ready to explain your hope in Christ? In this thought-provoking episode, Dave Wager welcomes Joel Settecase of the Think Institute to unpack the biblical foundation of apologetics. With 1 Peter 3:15 as the anchor, the two dive into how believers of all ages—from kids to college grads—can share and defend their faith with boldness, grace, and simplicity. Whether you're a lifelong Christian who's never questioned God's existence or someone who regularly engages skeptics, this conversation offers practical insights on how to communicate truth with confidence. From explaining the Greek word apologia to navigating the objections of today’s culture, Joel outlines a three-step method rooted in Scripture: ask good questions, expose contradictions, and point people to Christ. Dave brings it home with down-to-earth illustrations (yes, even a pen becomes a teaching tool), reminding listeners that God doesn’t need us—but He wants us. If you've ever felt unqualified to talk about your faith, this

Lee Brainard: The Cat, the Fiddle, The Cow and the Moon
18/07/2025 Duración: 55minMary welcomes back Bible teacher, student and watchman Lee Brainard to discuss sensationalizing Bible prophecy, especially in the areas of politics and events in nature. Today, with biblical illiteracy at an all time high, it stands to reason that Christians have no meat on their bones when it comes to the systematic study of prophecy. Whereas formerly, the topics of prophecy were centered around Israel, a global government, a global spirituality and a world wide economy powered by technology, suddenly everything is prophetic, and it's getting noisier out there. Time to bring things back into focus. And there are more blood moons coming, which means sensationalizing the heavens will also be rampant. Who is teaching this and why? We also discuss the New Wine Pentecost movement. What is it, is it biblical? Is it date setting at the core? Who is promoting it and why should we care? Sometimes following social media Bible prophecy sites more resembles a nursery rhyme than the truth. A cat, playing a fiddle, a cow

Russ Miller: It’s About Time
17/07/2025 Duración: 55minMary welcomes back Russ Miller to talk about science in general, and how not all science is reliable, except of course that which originates from God - and constitutes truth. Truly, the point of divergence between secular, historical science and operational science paradigms is TIME. Genesis starts out with "in the beginning", and humans who refuse the literal interpretation of creation have decided that the earth must be billions of years old, and that eventually, time and chance would produce mankind, after an extended period of death. Now, that sounds crazy to the believer but if you insist on proving the Bible wrong, this is your starting point, to claim mankind just appeared and there was no original sin. Secular Nobel scientist George Wald puts it perfectly: “Time is in fact the hero of the plot...given so much time, the impossible becomes possible, the possible probable, and the probable virtually certain. One has only to wait; time itself performs the miracles...” A quote only those who refuse to beli

Headlines: Holding Fast the Profession of Faith
16/07/2025 Duración: 55minTim and Mary come bearing headlines for another round of news and commentary. Today we discuss persecution in America, as anti-Christian rhetoric ramps up in diverse places. Last week we chatted with Todd Nettleton of Voice of the Martyrs to learn about our church family overseas; today we talk about perils in the US - and opportunities to stand firm for the faith. We also look at the latest with the IRS statement allowing pulpits to promote political candidates. Good, bad, ugly? Freedom of speech is always good, and just because it comes from the side of those who preach morals and are pro-life, doesn't make it less valuable. In fact, the world needs more words of value spoken by God's people on many subjects. But, we also have people in pews who think differently about politics and candidates. Is this a breeding ground for divisiveness, and what about those who really don't come to church to hear about politics on any level? Just askin'. We also talk about the 2-state solution and hostility against Jews. Di

Britt Gillette: Economics Update, The Collapse of Reality, Unfriending AI
15/07/2025 Duración: 55minMary welcomes back prophecy teacher Britt Gillette who also brings a lot of financial expertise with him to the podcast. Today we talk about the stock market, something many of us don't truly understand but has a deep impact on our economy, both national and international. What does it mean that the market is over 40,000 when in 1968 it closed at just over 900? We also look at the real estate market. Then we venture into AI when it comes to relationships. There are people out there, those we might call unstable, who are looking to chatbots for deep relationships. What a friend we have in -- AI? Is it time to unfriend these platforms? Especially when we consider that AI could deceive on a biblical level when people look to it to recreate their post-mortem loved ones. Why do people see AI as having human natures? Is this an emotional attachment that is due to a lack of real people in their lives? At the deepest level, this is not just disturbing but very sad. An eye-opening hour with Britt. Stand Up For The

Todd Nettleton: Counting All Things Loss
11/07/2025 Duración: 55minMary welcomes back Todd Nettleton of Voice of the Martyrs to give us perspective on one of those things that should drive us to our knees: our persecuted brethren around the world. Todd is the Chief of Media Relations and Message Integration for The Voice of the Martyrs—USA and host of The Voice of the Martyrs Radio. Todd serves as an advocate for persecuted Christians, inspiring US Christians with the faithfulness of Christ’s followers in 70+ nations where they face persecution for wearing His name. VOM is constantly ministering to and providing resources for our church family that has truly counted the cost of serving Jesus Christ. We talk about the latest hotspots, some of the faces and stories he encounters, and how the church can come alongside. In the 2nd half of the podcast, Mary wraps up another week with some pertinent headlines, including some fascinating stories about Britain's lead in technology, the ramping up of violence toward American churches, and Pope Leo's green agenda. Mary Danielsen: Not So Among You
10/07/2025 Duración: 55minToday, Mary takes on a topic that may be hard to hear, but is necessary, and few in the church are speaking out about it. The passage is 2 Timothy 3:1-5. When the Bible talks about perilous times, we tend to think about those headlines that appear suddenly and stand the world on its head - birth pangs, wars and rumours, Israel. And yet these verses point to a peril no one wants to talk about: the human heart. And not of unbelievers, but in the church. How in the world did we get here, loving self more than God? And yet, churches are battling this ill more and more to the point where believers are staying away. Yes, lack of sound doctrine plays a part - sometimes. But when narcissism begins to work its evil throughout a church, flowing primarily from controlling and unaccountable leadership, who is watching out for the sheep? What is a "form of godliness"? Why does Paul say to avoid such? What are the qualifications for pulpit ministry? Christians tend to be gracious and put up with a lot of mischief from lead

Headlines: It’s Getting Darker, Earlier
09/07/2025 Duración: 55minTim and Mary take on the news cycle this week by talking about the latest with Israel, Islam, the culture around us, and more. We talk about the death of the abortion pill inventor at 98; a Middle East roundup centered on Netanyahu's visit with Trump this week; and a health watch segment. What is a corporate farm exactly, and why should we care whether we have happy contented cows? Lots of reasons, and we also look at RFK Jr's take on health "wearables" - those devices that we are promised will make life easier if we are tracked 24 hours a day and our biometric markers are seen by whomever gets a hold of our data. What could possibly go wrong? Finally we look at Toyota's "Woven City" - a smart city on steroids, that is either the crowning achievement of technocrats or the creepiest thing I have ever read about. Your call. Does it seem like it's getting darker, earlier? A full hour of news and commentary. Stand Up For The Truth Videos: https://rumble.com/user/CTRNOnline & https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgQQ
