It’s been reported that the Steelers are not exercising the 5th year option for Justin Fields. But is there a chance they could make a deal with Fields before the season begins? Then what would they do with Russell Wilson in that instance? How good would the numbers need to be for Wilson to keep him around beyond this season? 

Hour 1: Another WR trade rumor is out there and there are some tentacles to the story. The Steelers have restructured the Alex Highsmith deal to free up roughly $7M in cap space. NFL Draft analyst Tony Pauline joined the show. Tony said he has heard the Steelers and Broncos are having conversations about a trade during the first night of the draft. He said the player in question is Quinyon Mitchell, who is Tony’s CB1 in this class. Tony got into why he is the top corner this year. Tony talked about what could happen at the top of the draft that would make this hypothetical trade is more likely. Tony’s guess if the Steelers stand pat is that they would select Graham Barton at 20th overall. Chris wanted to get the insight on Amarius Mims and if the Steelers could make it another Georgia tackle in back-to-back seasons. Is there any chance the Steelers could move back a few picks if the board breaks a certain way? Tony went a little rapid fire with prospects heading into the draft, most of them being first round offensive lineman. Could the Steelers take a gamble on a late-round QB?  

There are some other players that will be available during draft weekend – could one of them be Pat Freiermuth? 

Hour 3: Pirates broadcaster Greg Brown joined the show. The guys asked Brownie who Jared Jones reminds them of and he can’t think of anyone in a Pirates’ uniform. Greg highlighted how fun it is to watch him and how impressive his mentality is for a 22-year-old pitcher. Greg talked about how this came out of nowhere and it isn’t something there was much build-up for, like there will be for Paul Skenes. We discussed how much Wade Miley looks like Adam Crowley in about 10 years. We then took more calls on what Jared Jones has done so far.
