Rebecca Beeson hails from the UNSW-ES Bulldogs in Sydney and was selected with pick 32 in the 2016 NAB AFLW Draft. A great football brain, Beeson has good skills and can take a strong overhead mark. Beeson hasn’t missed a game across four AFLW seasons and received a Rising Star nomination in 2018. Paul J. van Staden is a senior lecturer in the Department of Statistics at the University of Pretoria, South Africa. He earned his PhD in Mathematical Statistics from the University of Pretoria in 2014. His research focuses on statistical distribution theory, in particular the construction of generalized families of probability distributions in the quantile statistical universe. With respect to sports analytics, his research interests include team and player performance measures in cricket, modeling of score distributions in rugby and cricket, and rating and ranking systems.
