21: Significance of Dussera or Dussehra
08/10/2019 Duración: 07minThis day is also known as Vijayadashmi. a. Durga Devi in the form of Mahishasur Mardini slayed the demon Mahishasur b. Rama Killed Ravan on this day. c. Pandavas returned to their kingdom Virat after their exile. Significance of Vijayadashmi Nine days of Navaratri are divided into three parts, each representing Tamas, Rajas, Satva First three days represent Tamas: Goddess is fierce and in the form of Durga and Kali. Next three days are related to Goddess Laxmi : Materialistic oriented. Last Three days are dedicated to Goddesss Saraswati- Reading, learning and enlightenment. On the day of Vijayadashmi, it is said that we have conquered all these qualities, we participated in these days, but overcame and did not give in. Dussera also is symbolic of the ten headed Ravana- each head representing one bad quality or ill. She rides a tiger, and is known to be a perfectionist. She governs planet Ketu. Devi can grant 18 types of Sindhis that humans desire for their betterment.
