Sinopsis
The prevention (and mitigation) of, and response to gender-based violence are classified as life-saving interventions in humanitarian settings. In this new mini-series, hosted on the Women’s Protection and Empowerment podcast, we’ll meet three women, Dalia, Esther and Ashanti, who are navigating how to provide these services in emergency programming. Dalia is applying for a job at a women’s right organization, where she previously volunteered. She just got the news she’s going to be interviewed for the position. In this episode, the focus is on Standard 1 of The Inter-Agency Minimum Standards for Gender-Based Violence in Emergencies Programming, that “All aspects of GBV programming are survivor-centred to preserve and promote the confidentiality, safety, non-discrimination and respect for the choices, rights and dignity of women and girls, including GBV survivors.” The Gender-Based Violence Minimum Standards Mini-Series is presented by International Rescue Committee, in coordination with the GBV AOR
