With this Friday commemorating Veterans Day 2022, we’re celebrating our own Mississippi Veterans. The 2021 and 2022 Hattiesburg Veterans of the Year, Col. (Ret) Joseph Kinnan, U.S. Air Force and Sergeant 1st Class (Ret), Nelson Haskin, Jr., with the Army National Guard, join the show to discuss their honors, lives, and legacies. Colonel (Ret) Sheila Varnado, Chair of the Hattiesburg Veteran of the Year Selection Committee, also joins in to talk about the events surrounding their celebration of the holiday, including a 24-hour vigil, Parade and Ceremony honoring the city’s unsung heroes.
