A conversation with Kelvin Burton, Martha Henderson, and Graeme McKay from Mercy Ships, an international charity that operates the largest non-governmental ships in the world, providing aid including community health projects. The team discusses the informatics challenges that arise in such a unique environment. Kelvin Burton joined the IS team at Mercy Ships in East Texas in October 1990. He filled many roles in IS over the years and is currently a Business Analyst in the Organizational Project Management Office. For the last 3 years he has been focused on projects intended to improve the hospital efficiency on Mercy Ships, including the Radiology PACS replacement project. Martha first volunteered in 2012 with Mercy Ships in Togo, West Africa. Over the next 10 years she split her time working with the NHS as CT Radiographer and leading the Radiology team onboard the MV Africa Mercy. More recently her focus has been setting up the Radiology department on The Global Mercy while completing her Masters in Applie
