Parenting In The Thick Of It With Louise Clarke

I felt called to record this episode today off the back of THE Oscar performance last Sunday night. What an unfortunate chain of events... However, more disturbing to me is the outpour of criticism, shame, judgment and righteousness off the back of it. Where is compassion and empathy in all of this and what is this "reaction" to it all teaching our kids? Whether either of their behaviours were right or wrong, the backlash is, in my books, even worse. Are we all so perfect that we never get triggered and say or do something we, with hindsight, wish we hadn't? And seriously, is taking away his Oscar going to make it all better? I discuss all of this and how we can help our kids not dial into this human drama and instead turn to curiosity, compassion and empathy. We have to role model this and lead the way and right now, I don't think that, collectively, enough of us are doing this. Do tune in...
