My friend Shanna Maria Brawner and I chat today about how to become a more intentional member of community. She tells the story of how one mentor confronted her out of concern and did it in such a way that Shanna felt utterly loved, not at all attacked. She confesses about having to deal with a self righteous attitude in her earlier life and how that has been transformed into a tempered, purposeful sense of justice, which is now being used for good.
