Multiple Intelligence Theory points out the many ways we can be smart in our lives besides reading, writing and math. Some are gifted at dance or sports. Musical intelligence, social awareness, even contemplation and self awareness can be valuable skill sets if viewed from this perspective.  We all have many ways we are talented or intelligent, though we may not recognize them.  Acknowledging and appreciating our own unique configuration of intelligence is important and affirming.
