SAGE Metro Detroit celebrates National Poetry Month while supporing the LGBTQ

April is National Poetry Month. It was established in 1996  as a way to increase awareness and appreciation of poetry in the United States. In a special crossover event Collections .and SAGE Metro Detroit team up to close out  National Poetry Month together. SAGE METRO DETROIT’s Executive Director, Angie Perone talks about the organization's work not only in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb and Washtenaw counties but throughout the state. SAGE Metro Detroit was launched in October 2015. It was formerly known as The LGBT Older Adult Coalition which was originally formed in 2010. It is working to establish effective programs and services for LGBTQ older adults.  SAGE USA is America's oldest and largest non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of the LGBTQ community focusing on the issue of LGBTQ Ageing. According to its mission statement, "SAGE leads in addressing issues related to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) aging. In partnership with its constituents and allies, SAGE works to achie
