Sinopsis

Recapping the weekend of March 3 and 4. Lava Man becomes only the third horse in history to repeat back-to-back wins of the Santa Anita Handicap. On the Kentucky Derby trail, Scat Daddy nosed the Fountain of Youth, and Great Hunter gets the Robert B. Lewis Stakes. Todd Pletcher won his fifth consecutive Hutcheson Stakes. After an Allowance win, Chelokee may be on the way to the Derby trail for Barbaro's trainer Michael Matz. In the Gulfstream Park Handicap, Corinthian makes it 2 for 2 in 2007. And Bob Baffert's Bluegrass Derby winning trainee Sinister Minister made his four-year-old debut. We also look forward to next week's Derby preps, including the Grade 3 Gotham Stakes featuring Summer Doldrums, and the Louisiana Derby with Circular Quay and Liquidity.
