Matthew 5:1-12  &  1 Corinthians 3:1-9 The final week of the Beatitudes focuses on the last three pronouncements of blessing Jesus gives upon the peacemakers and the persecuted.  While the message of peace and persecution seems simple, the practice he uplifts is difficult and necessary for our world today. Something about the people Jesus describes as blessed and fortunate seems foolish in 21st Century America.  The Kingdom of Jesus is upside down and backwards to the ways of our culture. Hear the words of Jesus and consider the truth found in the seemingly foolish blessings.
