Johnathan Shaw will be positive for one year, come December 30th. Johnathan is 21 years old and have been living in Augusta, Georgia for the past two years, but he is originally from Seattle, WA. His father was military so Je has lived everywhere from Hawaii to Virginia and even in New Orleans. When he found out he was HIV positive he had no motivation to live, but his best friend Brett encouraged him to turn what he considered a disaster into something that could be good for our generation. Before finding out he was positive, HIV never crossed his mind as something he would battle in his life. Johnathan was very naïve to the virus and assumed that only people that didn’t use protection contracted it. He found out first hand that just because you use a condom does not mean that you are immune to getting this dreadful disease. A faulty condom turned out to be his biggest threat in the end.
