Because our brains catalog things that can cause us harm, we are able to avoid situations that would be detrimental to our safety, and we survive.But survival is not the same thing as thriving. We might be able to feed ourselves, take care of our basic needs, but this is not the same thing as living a great life. A great life, to me, is one where we are able to take our skills, talents, and ambitions and live a life where we continually become better versions of ourselves.
