Fitting tanks to a vehicle might seem straightforward. But few on this planet have Paul's experience when it comes to building trucks that drive the world's roughest and loneliest tracks.

I guess it happens to everyone who goes off-road or overland eventually, and that is a breakdown that leaves the vehicle motionless and the occupants frustrated. These are those times when its happened to me, and what happened as a result.

My relationship with Toyota spans 20 years, from 1994 when I wrote my second book, to 2014 when Toyota South Africa finally handed over the keys of the Land Cruiser Troop Carrier. That was in South Africa and the conclusion of that and many projects. Since that time I have had no connection or link with Toyota in any country. But I look back on it as one of the best experiences of my professional career. This is that story.
