  • Episode 168 - Joe Broghammer - 3 Martini Conversation Special!

    24/04/2012 Duración: 45min

Local Omaha Joe Broghammer joins me in the studio to talk about his art. Thing is, we never get to the art talk. I was 2 martinis in working on a 3rd with Joe casually sipping on a couple beers. We start talking about aliens, spirits, bigfoot, and other paranormal stuff and the entire podcast is basically us debating everything. Joe claims not to believe in any of it, and I of course believe in it all. So it makes for an interesting listen.  Regardless, check out one of my favorite Omaha artists here: Joe Broghammer online Joe Broghammer obtained a B.F.A. from the University of South Dakota, Vermillion. He also completed graduate work at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. He has exhibited his work in more than forty group shows and has had solo exhibitions throughout the Midwest and beyond. His work is a part of museums, public and private collections. Joe recently won the Best of Show at the OEA Visual Awards Ceremony in December 2006 at the Bemis Underground.

In this episode I am joined by Dean Bernardini, the bass player for Chevelle. We talk about the new record Hats Off To The Bull and how the current tour is doing. We also talk about how he got into the band, how they have been recording, and what it's like transitioning from being a drummer to a bass player.  Bio: Chevelle is an American alternative metal trio that formed in 1995 in Grayslake, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. The band was originally composed of two brothers and a local friend: Pete Loeffler (lead vocals/guitar), Sam Loeffler (drums/percussion), and Matt Scott (bass/backing vocals). Matt was later replaced by brother Joe Loeffler. When Joe left the band in 2005, Geno Lenardo subbed-in as the bassist until he was replaced by Pete and Sam's brother-in-law, Dean Bernardini.  Chevelle has sold over three million albums in the United States. • Episode 164 - Kelli Miller Psychic Medium Part 2. My reading...

    15/03/2012 Duración: 29min

This is the second part of my interview with Kelli Miller. At this part of the interview, Kelli gives me a reading using her abilities and tarot cards. I've had tarot readings before and Laurie used to do a tarot reading at the beginning of the each year when we were looking to make goals for the future. I've rarely had a reading given to be by a true psychic with abilities like Kelli and was a bit reserved about it at first. After talking with her as long as I did, it felt quite natural and exciting. I came away with a sense of inspiration, happiness, and peace of mind.  This interview took place a while back, so it was nice to be able to follow up with the audience about what happened in the weeks following the reading.

  • Episode 163 - Kelli Miller Psychic Medium Part 1.

    10/03/2012 Duración: 45min

In this 2-part episode I am joined by Psychic Medium Kelli Miller. Kelli shares with us her story on how she discovered and subsequently repressed her abilties. Then how she later as an adult tapped into them again and now helps others with their life path and puts them in touch with passed loved ones. Kelli talks about her experiences with the afterlife, lets me know of a couple of spirits that stopped by, and then in episode 2, does a reading on me.  About Kelli: As a psychic, Kelli can provide you with guidance and direction in areas where you feel lost and confused. As a medium, she can receive messages from your deceased loved ones in spirit and your spirit guides. Therefore, using her abilities as a psychic medium, Kelli can help you connect with guidance from both energy and spirit to help you heal your life, your grief, your relationships, your career, your financial issues, your body and even your soul. As a spiritual advisor she can share insight into your own talents and strengths. Along with being

    02/03/2012 Duración: 46min

In this episode, I welcome a trio of game changers from the Omaha video scene. Yes, there is a video scene. Django from Love Drunk, Ben Semisch from Sound Surveillance, and Andrew Roger from Ingrained have been mastering their video skills with their own projects for a few years. Ben and Roger have frequently collaborated with Django on several Love Drunk Videos, a project that has set the bar for shooting bands in a “one take – one song” style. The quality is amazing, the settings are creative, and it’s all done live. • Episode 160 - Comedian Gabriel Iglesias

    17/02/2012 Duración: 28min

In this episode I interview comedian Gabriel Iglesias. He has been featured on Comedy Central in his own special and before that was seen on Last Comic Standing.  Bio Gabriel Iglesias has been described as unbelievably funny, electrifying, and a gifted performer who has the ability to consistently deliver a quality comedy experience in every venue he performs in. His high-octane show is a hilarious mixture of storytelling, parodies, characters and sound effects that bring all his personal issues to life. Gabe’s clean, animated comedy style has earned national crossover appeal. Ask anyone who has seen him in concert and you will probably hear the same thing, "He was so funny!" Known as the "fluffy" comic in a Hawaiian shirt, the 33-year old funny man often riffs about his girthy middle - whether it's talking about how little dancing it takes for him to work up a sweat at the nightclub, or how hearing his girlfriend coo the words "chocolate cake" over the telephone works for him like phone sex, he evokes laught

  • Episode 159 - Kaitlyn Maria Filippini

    11/02/2012 Duración: 37min

Once again my favorite Neuroscientist stopped over with her annual gift of scone. The beautiful and talented Kaitliyn Maria Filippini is a wonderful violin player as well as a multi-instrumentalist, artist, film composer, scientist, and as it happens, baker. Her career is taking off in big ways (some of which we can't even tell you at the moment), and I am happy to be able to share them with the audience as she is a great interview. We chat and play a couple of her compositions. Then later I enjoyed her scone. And yes I shared it with my intern Kendall. Opening song about and dedicated to our friend Doug Flynn. All true. He's a superhero.  Kaitlyn online Opening song: "Doug Flynn" by Millions of Boys

We showcase 3 songs off the record, which are pretty amazing for those liking the indie/punk/pop/rad sound.  Opening song: "Wowowow" by Cursive Millions of Boys on the facebook

  • Episode 157: Meredith Sheldon

    30/01/2012 Duración: 17min

So there I was at the Waiting Room to see the Lemonheads, and on stage is this beautiful pixie of a girl rockin with an electric guitar and a pretty great band. Seeing as I had already a few cocktails in me, I boldly went up and asked for an interview. Lucky me, she accepted. So there we were, in the green room, Evan Dando warming up on his guitar, random band members and crew chillin' out, and me with my iPhone trying to get to know this girl a little better. We were both enjoying the bottle of whiskey that was being passed around, but I managed to pull together some questions and find out how she got started with her music and how she got hooked up with the Lemonheads. She was a sweetheart and the rest of the night was kind of a blur... Meredith Sheldon online

  • Episode 152

    08/12/2011 Duración: 47min

It was a cold and icy night when two members of the Omaha band So So Sailors stopped by the studio for an interview. I gave them whiskey and beer. I brandished a vodka rocks and we settled in for an interview. That's the story anyway. Chris and Brendan have currently been promoting the release of their new EP "Young Hearts" and I imagine the interview with the Omaha World Herald wasn't half as fun or interesting as this one. Let's just say there was a bit of editing done to eliminate some off topic convos, (Hint: listen after the end credits to hear some...), but even so, this episode is a bit long as we showcase three songs off of the EP. Opening song: "New Tattoo" by Brad Hoshaw  -  Check out his new record on Bandcamp HERE So So Sailors online Chris Machmulller:Piano/Guitar/Saxophone/Vocals Dan McCarthy:Wurlitzer Dan Kemp:Drums Alex McManus:Guitar/Vocals Brendan Greene-Walsh:Bass/Vocals Bio The So-So Sailors are five sun-burnt stowaways left adrift upon the high seas.
