Local Omaha Joe Broghammer joins me in the studio to talk about his art. Thing is, we never get to the art talk. I was 2 martinis in working on a 3rd with Joe casually sipping on a couple beers. We start talking about aliens, spirits, bigfoot, and other paranormal stuff and the entire podcast is basically us debating everything. Joe claims not to believe in any of it, and I of course believe in it all. This week the studio was host to TWO bands thanks to our good friends the Normans from Hearnebraska.org. Cheap Girls from Michigan and The Sidekicks from Ohio. Both on tour, they played Omaha and were on their way to Lincoln for a show. We talk about how it has been taking 2 vans and 9 people on the road for a 6 week trek across the USA. In this episode I am joined by Dean Bernardini, the bass player for Chevelle. We talk about the new record Hats Off To The Bull and how the current tour is doing. We also talk about how he got into the band, how they have been recording, and what it's like transitioning from being a drummer to a bass player.  Bio: Chevelle is an American alternative metal trio that formed in 1995 in Grayslake, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. The band was originally composed of two brothers and a local friend: Pete Loeffler (lead vocals/guitar), Sam Loeffler (drums/percussion), and Matt Scott (bass/backing vocals). This is the second part of my interview with Kelli Miller. At this part of the interview, Kelli gives me a reading using her abilities and tarot cards. I've had tarot readings before and Laurie used to do a tarot reading at the beginning of the each year when we were looking to make goals for the future. In this episode we welcome Omaha band Rock Paper Dynamite into the studio for an interview. We play some songs off of their new record "I've Seen Days" and talk about their recent win of Best Rock Band at the Omaha Entertainment and Arts Awards. Once again my favorite Neuroscientist stopped over with her annual gift of scone. The beautiful and talented Kaitliyn Maria Filippini is a wonderful violin player as well as a multi-instrumentalist, artist, film composer, scientist, and as it happens, baker. Her career is taking off in big ways (some of which we can't even tell you at the moment), and I am happy to be able to share them with the audience as she is a great interview. So there I was at the Waiting Room to see the Lemonheads, and on stage is this beautiful pixie of a girl rockin with an electric guitar and a pretty great band. Seeing as I had already a few cocktails in me, I boldly went up and asked for an interview. Lucky me, she accepted. So there we were, in the green room, Evan Dando warming up on his guitar, random band members and crew chillin' out, and me with my iPhone trying to get to know this girl a little better. We were both enjoying the bottle of whiskey that was being passed around, but I managed to pull together some questions and find out how she got started with her music and how she got hooked up with the Lemonheads. It was a cold and icy night when two members of the Omaha band So So Sailors stopped by the studio for an interview. I gave them whiskey and beer.
